Chapter 117 I Promise Not to Touch

Admas frowned, still somewhat dissatisfied. 

Chloe, who was standing nearby, spoke up, “Grandpa, let it go. It is not a big deal. Cathy did not know the situation when she said that. I already heard her apology just now.” 

Chloe was not trying to help Cathy get out of trouble, nor was she trying to do Cathy a favor. 

She just felt uncomfortable hearing Cathy’s reluctant apology. 

Hearing this, Admas snorted coldly. 

“Since Chloe says it is not necessary, then let it be. But do not let it happen again.” 

Cathy glared at Chloe, then turned and ran upstairs without looking back. 

Because they had to spend the night in the Lotus Manor, Michael and Chloe had no choice but to sleep in the same room. 

The room had been set aside by Admas for them earlier. 

It was spacious, but aside from the large bed, it did not even have a sofa.

Chloe glanced at the bay window and decided to sleep there. 

“What are you doing?” 

Michael suddenly asked her. 

“I am going to sleep on the bay window,” Chloe replied. 

She thought, “Was my action not obvious enough?” 

“You sleep on the bed, and I will sleep on the bay window.” 

Chloe did not argue. Since Michael had said so, he could sleep there. Who would not want to sleep on the bed, after all?

After Chloe lay down, Michael stood by the bay window, feeling troubled. 

He is nearly 6 feet tall, and the bay window was only 5 feet long 

at most. 

Curling up his legs to sleep was very uncomfortable. 

Chloe was well aware of this but did not mention it. She wanted to see how he would handle his bravado after agreeing to it. 

Looking at the narrow bay window, Michael felt a headache coming on. 

After a while, he turned around and started discussing with 

Chloe.

“This bay window is too small. Neither of us will be comfortable sleeping here. The bed is big enough. I promise not to touch you; we can each sleep on our side.” 

It was rare for Chloe to see him so easygoing. 

She did not intend to make things difficult for him. 

“Alright,” she agreed. 

She turned over, facing away from the empty side of the bed.. 

Michael breathed a sigh of relief and walked over to the other side to lie down. 

He turned off the light, and the room quickly darkened. 

The sound of their breathing was clearly audible, and Chloe. found it difficult to fall asleep, tossing and turning several times. 

“Cannot sleep?” a deep voice came from the darkness. 

Chloe softly murmured, “Yeah, maybe I am just not used to the bed.”
