Chapter 152 Market
Admas couldn’t handle spicy food well.
Yet, despite his intolerance, he has a penchant for oily, spicy food.
Michael prefers lighter flavors, so ever since Admas had lived. with him, spicy food became a rare treat.
It must have been too tempting to resist today, hence the invitation for spicy barbeque.
Suddenly, Chloe had an idea and spoke into the screen.

“Grandpa, it’s Chloe. I’ll bring some fresh beef and lamb for the barbeque!”
She believed no one could resist the allure of a barbeque with fresh meals.
Sure enough, Admas nodded in agreement immediately.
After hanging up, Chloe’s voice was somewhat cold.
“The market is a bit far. If it’s too much trouble, you can drop me off on the way, and I’ll go by myself. I’ll go back home after I’ve finished buying.”
Without hesitation, she brushed off Michael, leaving him feeling
a bit sad.

Chloe looked at him, surprised.

A market was not a place she expected someone of his status to visit even once in his lifetime.
Chloe hadn’t thought he would volunteering to go.
Her first reaction was surprise and disbelief.
“No need. It’s just a few items. I can carry them back myself.”
Chloe looked away.
Although she didn’t know why he suddenly felt the urge to accompany her to the market today, she instinctively refused.
“It’s okay, I’ll go with you.”
Once Michael had made up his mind; he wouldn’t change it.
Chloe didn’t press further. If he wanted to make himself uncomfortable, then so be it.
At the market, Michael saw the vendors shouting their wares and instinctively frowned.
“Why not just go to a supermarket?”
There were plenty of supermarkets around with a

And this grimy place….

“The produce at the farmers‘ market is fresher and cheaper than what you’d find in the supermarket,” Chloe explained as she continued walking deeper into the market.
The veggies in the supermarkets looked prettier because they were processed and packaged, which also doubled their price.
But here, the meat was freshly butchered, just without the fancy packaging. Often, the quality from these vendors was better than what you’d get at a supermarket.
Michael followed silently behind Chloe.
He watched as she expertly communicated with the stall owners, haggling naturally.
He stood beside her, utterly fascinated.
It was a side of Chloe he had never seen before.
She was vibrant and unrestrained, so different from her usual
self at the Lotus Manor.
“Hey, I’m a regular here. Give me a discount, and I’ll keep coming back to you!”
