Michael’s face darkened. 

He thought, “We’re in public, can’t she watch what she says?” 

“Besides, there was nothing wrong with what Lucy just said.”

Michael said, “Lucy’s always put up with your nonsense without a fuss. Do you really want to make things awkward for everyone here?” 

His eyes were weary. Chloe’s antics were pushing him to the edge, time and time again. 

Candy had just come back from the bathroom when she saw Michael picking on Chloe. 

Candy charged straight at them. 

“Michael, if you cheated, just own up to it. I’d respect your honesty. But right now, you’re just bullying your own woman. That’s real cowardly.” 

“You’re married, so keep your distance from other women. Even kids know this. Maybe you should go back to school and learn some basics!” 

“You’re really defending her? If your precious Lucy was as 

innocent as you claim, she’d have ditched you ages ago. No one

Michael never expected Candy to say that. 

Lucy, who had just been putting on a flawless act, was now starting to waver. 

“I think you got it wrong…” 

Candy snapped, “Shut up. I’m talking to Michael, not you. Seems like you not only enjoy meddling in other people’s relationships but also interrupting conversations. How rude!” 

Candy’s words crossed the line. Chloe saw the look of pure malice flash in Lucy’s eyes from behind her. 

Well, well, well, looks like even Lucy can’t keep up the act 

forever.

“Michael, not everyone is as shameless as you. Chloe and Quinn have a pure friendship. But you and your Lucy…” 

Candy’s words hung in the air, unfinished. 

But her words made it clear she had nothing but disdain for 

Michael. 

Candy felt a rush of relief as she finished speaking. 

She couldn’t care less about Michael and Lucy’s sour faces. Wrapping her arm around Chloe’s waist, she turned and walked 

away.
