Chapter 256 Where Did He Go? 

Chloe shrugged nonchalantly. “I just need to add my contact information–WhatsApp and email–so you can reach me in various ways,” she said. 

James was surprised by her offer. 

Was she really ready to be available at all hours? 

Would she actually show up if he called her in the middle of the night? 

Pondering this, he handed over his phone. 

Chloe entered her details and then handed the phone back to him. 

She picked up the documents and headed to the Human Resources Department. 

James glanced at his phone, noticing the new WhatsApp contact. 

Chloe’s profile picture was an adorable ragdoll kitten. 

The HR department processed Chloe’s paperwork quickly. Within half an hour, she had her work pass. 

“Excuse me, which floor is my workstation on?” Chloe asked. 

The HR team looked puzzled 

Chloe was their first network researcher, and no one knew where she should sit. 

“Please wait. I’ll check with Mr. Dale,” one of them said. 

Chloe waved her hand. “It’s okay, I’ll ask him myself.” 

Despite Smith saying she didn’t need to work at the office, she felt alse should at least have a designated spot. 

Chloe took the elevator to James‘ office, but it was 

was empty. 

“Where’s Mr. Dale?” she inquired. 

She went out and asked Harold. 

Harold, still adjusting to the striking new colleague. 

He took a moment to respond.. “Mr. Dale left about three minutes ago.” 

He left? 

Chloe was taken aback. “Where 

did he go?” 

How could he be making things difficult for her so early in the day? 

“I’m not sure, Ma. Nelson,” Harold replied. 

He was helpless 

Chloe had no choice but to pull out her phone to track James‘ location. 

She was glad she had added her contact information to his phone earlier 

James had only gone to the office to sort out Chloe’s onboarding 

With that done, he didn’t intend to stick around.

He called a friend and headed to the shooting range. 

Asher, waiting for him at the range, shook his head when he saw James in his sports gear. 

“Man, you just got back from abroad, and you’re already at the range? Haven’t you had enough shooting in the army?”

James had complained to Asher about Chloe when they first met.
