Owen was left speechless, unable to argue against his words.
"Who are you, and what is your relationship with Lucy?"
Abel seemed to suspect that Owen and Lucy weren't actually a couple, so he ended the conversation with, "If she wants to get rid of the baby, I won't oppose it," and then hung up.
Owen was furious, nearly smashing the phone in his hand.
When he returned to the hospital room, Lucy had already handed the signed contract to the bodyguards. "I've signed it. You can take it back to him. Don't worry, I won't hurt the baby again."
After all, she still planned to use this child to reconcile with Michael.
Meanwhile, Michael had boarded the earliest flight to Mamaica, arriving in the afternoon, local time.
He rushed straight to the hospital where James was being treated.
After asking the nurse which operating room James was in, he headed for the elevator.
Chloe was quietly waiting outside the operating room. She knew James' surgery wouldn't be over quickly, so she used the time to search for a place to stay.
She didn't want to stay at Michael's house, so she planned to find her own place.
Just then, she received a call from Jessica back home. "Chloe, is everything going smoothly over there?"
"James is already in surgery."
Jessica nodded and continued, "Chloe, we have a new client here, and it's in Mamaica. Could you find the time to meet with them?"
Chloe was surprised that Jessica had managed to secure new business from abroad. "Send the details to my phone, and I'll take a look."
"Will do!"
Jessica cheerfully sent over the information.
Chloe had just opened the file when she heard Michael's voice. "Chloe!"
At first, she thought she was imagining it. After all, this was Mamaica.
She let out a soft laugh, thinking she must have been so bothered by him recently that she was now hallucinating his voice, even here, far from home.
But the next moment, she saw a pair of black leather shoes appear in front of her.
She hesitantly looked up, only to meet Michael's eyes filled with longing.
"You..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Michael knelt down and pulled her into a tight embrace.
Chloe froze like a statue, not moving for a long time.
When he finally released her, she asked, "Shouldn't you be back home?"
"I couldn't stop worrying about you."
Chloe pressed her lips together, finding his reason too simple and straightforward.
He sat beside her, handing her a bottle of water he had bought downstairs.
"How long has he been in there?"
Chloe looked down at her phone, clearly uncomfortable.
She had thought coming to Mamaica would allow her to avoid seeing Michael; she had not expected he would follow her here.
"Two hours."
Michael nodded and leaned against the wall. "You didn't sleep well last night, did you? Let me take you somewhere to rest."
Listening to him, Chloe couldn't focus on the documents on her phone. She locked the screen and finally looked up at him. "Michael, what exactly do you want?"
"I don't want anything. I just couldn't stop worrying about you."
"I'm not anyone to you. You don't need to worry."
"You're the woman I love!"
Chloe opened her mouth, but his words left her speechless.
She sighed softly, thinking to herself, "Forget it, Mamaica is big enough. If he's here, he's here. There's no stopping him anyway."
Around noon, Michael got up from beside her and left, returning shortly with lunch.
