The room was thick with tension, and Amanda felt an unsettling instinct gnawing at her gut. "Why is everyone so quiet? Speak up, will you?"

She thought, "Just a few days without seeing Chloe, and now Chloe is nowhere to be found?"

When no one replied, Amanda pointed an accusing finger at Michael. "You! Where's my sister?"
