Michael picked up his phone again. Seeing that Chloe still hadn’t replied, his face darkened. 

“Where are you? Bring me dinner to the office. I’ve got to work late.”

Michael was the office legend, known for his dedication and responsibility.

As soon as she finished speaking, everyone around her nodded in understanding. 

“Ms. Campbell sure knows Mr. Shawn well.” 

“Word on the street is Ms. Campbell and Mr. Shawn go way 

back.” 

“You guys really are in sync!” 

Lucy’s colleagues teased her. She just smiled, neither arguing. nor explaining. 

Michael didn’t catch a word they were saying; his attention was glued to his phone. 

To outsiders, it seemed like he was silently agreeing. 

Chloe and Quinn stepped out of the mall, ready to take a walk to help digest their meal. 

Her phone kept buzzing with notifications.

Where are you? Be at the office in 30 minutes. 

“I’m neither your personal assistant nor an employee of Paramount Airlines. Why should I go to the office?” 

His commanding tone made her laugh out of sheer frustration. 

“If you don’t show up, forget about the divorce.”
