Axel froze, his face a whirlwind of shifting emotions.
Finally, his forced smile crumbled, looking more like a grimace than an attempt at humor.
His lips trembled before he managed to speak:
"Sophie, where did you find this actor? His performance is terrible. Stop lying to us."
Even with the wedding rings and certificate in plain sight, he refused to believe it.
I hadn’t expected to see them again so soon, but I had already made my decision to cut ties.
“He’s not an actor. I’m sorry if this disappoints you. As you can see, I’m married now.”
My voice was calm and detached as I held up the certificate and waved it lightly in front of Oscar and Axel.
Ryan remained composed, wrapping an arm around my waist and nodding politely at them.
“Hello, let me introduce myself. I’m Sophie’s husband. My name is Ryan Foster.”
Alpha King's might invaded instantly, and Oacar and Axel's forms shook.
Axel’s pupils narrowed, and a surge of uncontrollable anger bubbled up inside him.
Struggling to rein in his emotions, he fixed his gaze on me, his voice tight and trembling.
“Sophie, stop this nonsense. Are you mad at us? Be reasonable. You’re not serious about this. Divorce him. You must’ve acted on impulse without thinking it through.”
As he spoke, Axel reached out and grabbed my hand, attempting to pull me back toward the registry office.
Oscar quickly stepped in, blocking Ryan.
“Mr. Foster, what gives you the right to marry Sophie? Do you even know her? Do you know her likes, her habits? Do you love her?”
