After It Happened novel Chapter 5

8th February, 2018

Danielle,

Camille knows! She knows! She saw me and C-Jay in the art room. I still don't know what she was doing there, but I don't care to know. Now I understand her past behaviours. She has been avoiding me like the plague since that day, but today I cornered her and forced her to spill.

She was really hurt because of C-Jay's actions, and didn't know who to blame. Anyways, she told me she would break up with him, but I don't think she would do that anytime soon. She liked him too much, or maybe the idea of him. She was still angry with me though, and she thought I still liked him. I laughed hard at this before assuring her that I didn't feel a thing for that jerk after all he's done.

So after everything, we made up after I apologized (for nothing) and she forgave me. I think she just missed me too much and she needed someone to talk to since C-Jay's friends are just airheads who care about themselves only.

During lunch, Camille and I sat alone because staying with C-Jay would just be frustrating with the tension and fakeness and all that. Camille kept on ranting about her very annoying and hot-headed stepbrother. Camille's mom had left them when Camille was 5 for a younger Mexican guy.

You won't believe this! I actually felt something today. I was ANGRY. I felt a burning feeling in my chest. Regret, pain, hate, fear. All at once. Someone who was meant to remain in my past came back. He wasn't meant to follow me here to Lagos. Last I heard, he moved to the East. Why would he come here? I am scared that coming with him are all the memories. He wasn't meant to be here again.

No! No! No!

I can't be in that school with him. He may die one day. I may become a murderer really soon. Kelechi should beware of my new found wrath.
