Chapter 1054 

Paul said, “He never changed his phone wallpaper.” 

“Huh? Dr. Quinton’s phone wallpaper is ex–his wife?” Miranda was shocked. 

“Why are you so surprised?” 

Miranda muttered under her breath, “I thought it was some celebrity. She looked so familiar. His wife is really beautiful though. Honestly… she’s kind of wasted on Dr. Quinton.” 

“His wife is a celebrity,” Paul answered. “She’s a film actress, Louise Sherman.” 

Miranda was taken aback once more. An award–winning actress? Oh my gosh! 

“Am I holding on to explosive gossip right now? The kind that could take over the trending topics if it got out?” she exclaimed. 

Paul’s lips twitched with amusement. “Don’t even think about it. Silas only found out because the paparazzi exposed it.” 

She was at a loss for words. 

After Miranda went home, she casually mentioned Paul’s business trip to Lionel, who was fussing with some plants on the balcony. To her surprise, his reaction was even bigger than hers. 

“A business trip? He’s leaving tomorrow? That sudden? I bought mutton to make some stew tomorrow. Why is he going on a trip now?” Lionel exclaimed. 

Miranda explained briefly, “The original person couldn’t make it, so he had to fill in at the last minute. By the way, weren’t you supposed to bring Mom to register at Luridge College tomorrow?” 

Lionel froze as it hit him a second later. “Oh, right… I was supposed to take your mom tomorrow…” 

He clearly forgot completely about it. 

Mindy shot him a cold look. Her expression had a hint of exasperation and impatience. It had only been a few days! 

That evening, Lionel made the mutton stew ahead of time. His excuse was that mutton stew tasted better when there was a crowd to share it with. Mindy gave him a look that said, “Do you think I believe that?” 

After dinner, Lionel didn’t let Paul wash the dishes. He put on an apron and busied himself in the kitchen. 

“Mom, I’ll go and help him pack some things,” Miranda said. With that, she left with Paul. He couldn’t help but break into a sweat for her. 

Yet, Mindy said nothing about it. Lionel was busy cleaning up in the kitchen. Miranda didn’t know whether he heard her or not, but he didn’t say a word. She just took his silence as… approval. 

Just like that, Míranda followed Paul back home. 

With the door closed, their eyes met in the darkness. Without hesitation, they kissed passionately. There was no question of who initiated it because… both were equally eager. 

Paul held her slender waist firmly, while Miranda wrapped her arms around his neck. Their lips locked, and their breaths intertwined. 

With a loud thud, Miranda was pinned against the door as Paul’s strength was too much for her to bear. 

He murmured, “Mimi… I’ve missed you so much…”
