Evangeline’s POV
.
He came in and sat across me and then he did something unthinkable.
“I am sorry.”, He said in a low tone. Barely audible.
“Pardon, please! I can’t hear you properly.”
“I am very well aware that you heard me.”, He said in his old arrogant tone. “And I am not going to repeat myself.”, He added.
“Whatever”, I muttered and was about to walk out but stopped by him, blocking my way. “What now?”, I asked, getting slightly irritated.
“Don’t you dare to run from this wedding just like your sister.”, He ordered.
Who is he to order me?
“Listen Mr. Arrogant, I am not your slave who will follow your order meekly.”, I spat.
“I know you’re not. But you will have to follow my orders.”, He growled and took a step forward while I moved backward. This continued until my back hit the wall.
He placed both of his hands on either side of the wall so that I couldn’t move. I could feel his hot and minty breath and tried to act as bold as I could.
“You are going to my wife. So, better behave like one from now on.”, He said while his right hand moved the har that covered my face behind my ear.
“Exactly. Your wife, not your mate. I am going to be just your wife whom you will easily kick out of your life after finding your mate just like you werewolves do.”, I hissed, pushing him away.
I saw him opening his mouth to say something but he decided against it. He stared at me for a while before leaving my room.
I placed my hand over my heart which was pounding loudly. I was trying hard to keep myself calm but couldn’t.
Why was that so?
I was mad at him for his arrogant behavior, still, I couldn’t stay mad at him.
I knew it might sound clingy but I felt I had known him for years. As if there were some bonds between us.
Okay! Now cut the crap! It was going too far.
I ran my eyes back to my bed where my mom’s diary was. I walked toward my bed and picked the diary. I softly touch it, with a small smile on my face. After all, this diary had memories of my mother's memories. I opened the first page and could see my name in her handwriting ‘For my princess, Evangeline’.
‘Dear Eva,
If you are reading this then I believe either you are getting married to some werewolf or you have decided to stay in the pack. And I can guess, the answer will be the first one, most probably.
I always knew that you can’t stay away from your destiny and I hate to tell you that your destiny belongs here, between the werewolves.’
I furrowed my eyebrow, after reading that sentence, wondering why mom would have written that?
‘Don’t get confused, my child. There are so many things that I want to share with you but I can’t, at least not at this phase because you are too small to understand things but now that you are reading this diary, I am sure that you are a grown-up woman.
First of all, I want you to forgive your father for the things he did to me because I knew he didn’t ditch me intentionally. We both were forced into the marriage for the sake of our packs but we had cleared the fact to one another at the very beginning that one will not stop the other if he or she finds their mates.
So, I would have done the same which your father had done if….if I would have found my mate again.’
‘Again? What does she mean by that?’, I wondered.
