Chapter 10: She Saved Me

Chapter 10: She Saved Me

(Celeste’s POV)

The crisp winter air cut into my skin like shards of ice as I sprinted toward the chaos

unfolding at the moon pool.

The chilling howls and frantic cries of wolves filled the air, but I ignored them. My focus was sharp, cutting through the distant noise like a blade.

The moment I reached the scene, my breath caught.

Scarlett’s wolf was flailing wildly in the sacred moon pool, her auburn fur matted and damp as

she thrashed against the freezing waters.

The silvery glow of the moon reflected off the ice, giving the scene an almost surreal beauty.

But the icy waters were no ordinary poolthey were blessed by moonlight and laced with

silver energy.

For someone like Scarlett, with a weakened wolf, this wasn’t just dangerousit was deadly.

Nina-I gasped, my voice strained.

But before Nina could react, my legs carried me forward, cutting through the gathered wolves

like they weren’t even there.

My wolf stirred faintly inside me, urging me on despite her frailty.

The freezing burn of the moon pool wasn’t new to me. I had felt its bite once beforebut this

time, I wasn’t the one drowning.

Without a second thought, I leapt in.

The icy water slammed against me, piercing through my clothes and into my skin like

thousands of needles.

The silver energy laced within the sacred pool sizzled against my scars, amplifying the pain

tenfold.

But I didn’t stop.

As I pushed deeper into the water, my wolf yelped inside me, the silver burns constricting her already weak presence.

Chapter 10: She Saved Me

My arms stretched forward, grasping against the relentless cold as my violet eyes locked onto

Scarlett’s struggling form.

Hold on!I shouted, though my voice felt weak.

Scarlett’s wolf let out frantic cries, her claws scraping helplessly against the jagged edges of

the ice.

Panic radiated from her small frame, but she wasn’t moving with purposejust thrashing, exhausting herself faster with every second.

Finally, my hand caught her fur.

Her panicked energy slammed into me the moment we connected. Her wolf twisted and

turned against my grip, nearly dragging me under with her wild movements.

Stop moving!I ordered through gritted teeth.

Scarlett’s wolf whimpered in response, freezing for just a momentlong enough for me to

reposition my arms around her.

My muscles burned as I propelled us toward the icy edge. Every stroke was a battle, the

sacred waters searing my skin and weighing down my limbs.

When we finally breached the edge, hands reached down to pull Scarlett’s trembling body from

the water. Her soaked form collapsed onto the ground, shivering uncontrollably.

I hauled myself out after her, collapsing onto the frozen earth. My breath came in ragged,

gasps as the cold pressed against my skin.

Scarlett’s whimpers brought my eyes up. She was drenched and shaking her emerald eyes

wide with terror. Wolves crowded around her, their murmurs filled with concern and confusion.

I stayed on the ground, too exhausted to move. The burning sensation from the silver in the

pool still lingered, eating away at whatever energy I had left.

That was when I heard her voice.

Celeste! It wasn’t Scarlett. It was Sarah, Scarlett’s everloyal guard.

Her voice sliced through the air like a whip, brimming with fury as her wolf surged beneath her

skin.

She stormed forward, her sharpened gaze locking onto me as though I were a target to hit.

What did you do?she snarled, her voice filled with venom. You pushed her in, didn’t you?

Chapter 10: She Saved Me

I stared at her, too tired to resist her accusations, but my wolf bristled weakly. My lips parted, but before I could speak, Nina’s sharp growl cut through the tense atmosphere.

(Nina’s POV)

My blood was boiling as Sarah’s accusations spilled out like venom.

Without hesitation, I stepped in front of Celeste. My wolf was already surging beneath the

surface, her energy shaking with anger.

My silvergray fur bristled as I shifted partially, my claws itching to come out.

Multiple wolves witnessed her rescue, I snapped, my tone icecold. My wolf growled low,

sending a clear warning as I stared Sarah down. “Think before you speak, Beta.”

Sarah’s wolf roared under her skin, her actions just as impulsive as her accusations. She

lunged toward Celeste, but this time, I wasn’t going to let her get close.

With a swift move, I shifted fully, my claws scraping against the frozen ground as I snarled. I

positioned myself defensively, in between Sarah and Celeste, baring my teeth.

Stand. Down.My voice was a growlfilled warning, my wolf’s dominance flaring just enough

to force hesitation.

TThe sacred pool is reserved for blessed wolves,” Sarah stammered, her control wavering as

doubt seeped into her glare. “She had no right to enter-

And neither does Scarlett if strength is the requirement,” I snapped without hesitation. My

silver eyes glowed faintly as I took another aggressive step forward.

Celeste risked her life to save your charge. The least youcan do is not accuse her of disloyalty without reason!

(Celeste’s POV)

I watched Nina’s defensive stance with a mixture of surprise and gratitude. Her loyalty was

unwavering now, even in the face of wolves ranked higher than her.

But before Sarah could respond, a new growl filled the air. One much louder.

Lucas.

His towering frame moved through the crowd, his green eyes blazing gold as his wolf surged forward. His gaze wasn’t on Ninanot yet. It was on, me.

What happened here? His voice was sharp, his wolf’s growl amplifying the intimidation.

Chapter 10: She Saved Me

Sarah wasted no time. She pushed Scarlett into the moon pool-

She saved me,” Scarlett’s trembling voice cut through suddenly, much softer than Sarah’s accusations.

It was barely audible above the murmurs of the gathered wolves, but I heard it clearly. All eyes turned toward her, waiting for her to say more.
