Chapter 105: So Everyone knew
(Celeste’s POV)
The air felt heavy as Victoria rushed toward me, her wolf whimpering in distress. Her green eyes brimmed with what she likely thought was concern, but all I could feel was disgust.
The moment her hands touched my arm, her breath caught in shock. She pulled away fast enough to make me sway. Her hands–shaking slightly–were stained with the blood and silver
residue from Marcus’s chains.
Gasps rose around us as the gathered pack wolves finally smelled it. The metallic tang of
silver mixed with blood thickened the air, choking it with a truth they couldn’t ignore.
Victoria stared at her hands in disbelief, her eyes wide as they darted back toward me. Her
lips trembled as if forming words she didn’t dare say.
A bitter, sharp laugh escaped me before I could stop it. It was loud in the silence, filled with
the anger and pain that burned beneath every joint in my body.
“So,” I said, my voice cracking but laced with venom, “even you knew about his torture den.”
Her widened eyes flickered with something–recognition. Guilt seeped out from her wolf,
radiating in waves that made my scars burn hotter. She tried to hide it behind her soft eyes and trembling lips.
“I–Celeste, let me call Dr. Pierce,” she stammered. Her voice was shaky, laced with a
desperation to regain control. She reached out toward me again. “These wounds need
immediate care. Please, let me help.”
I jerked back so violently that my body screamed in protest. Every single shredded nerve
screamed at me to stop moving, but I didn’t care. Her touch felt like poison.
“Don’t pretend to care now, I hissed. My voice trembled, not with weakness, but with fury.
Victoria flinched at the words that struck her so plainly. Her wolf–pathetic in its false distress -whined again as it retreated behind her tear–filled eyes.
“You all knew,” I continued, my voice rising. The anger spilled out of me like blood,
unstoppable, uncontrollable. “You all knew about Marcus. You knew what he was. What he
/does.”

The pack wolves standing nearby shifted uncomfortably at my words. Their eyes darted between Victoria and me, flickering with unease. They couldn’t deny it. None of them could. “You said four years in Moon Shadow Prison would repay fourteen years of pack protection,” I snarled, my chest heaving as I fought to keep myself standing. My voice dripped with bitterness, louder now, sharp enough to cut through the tension in the air.
Victoria’s face paled, and her lips parted slightly as if I’d physically struck her. Her wolf’s guilt grew thicker, heavier in the space between us.
The metallic sting from my wounds only worsened as I forced myself to keep speaking.
“Since that debt is repaid, why sacrifice me to Marcus?” I demanded, my voice breaking slightly now. My hands curled into fists at my side, trembling from the strain as I continued. What did I do to deserve this? What made my life worth less to you?”
Tears swelled behind my eyes, but I held them back. I forced my voice to stay strong, even when the tremors in my chest threatened otherwise.
Pain knifed through me. I could feel every lash from Marcus’s chains fresh as if they were happening again. I saw the satisfaction in his violet eyes, the cruel twist of his mouth as he
watched me break.
“You watched!” I shouted now, unable to control the frustration that boiled over. “You… all of
you watched me rot in Moon Shadow Prison. And now… you send me to him? To Marcus?”
Victoria stumbled back, her wolf letting out a small, pathetic noise as she clung to Alpha
James for support. Her green eyes glistened with tears as she shook her head weakly.
”
“But I-” she began, her voice frail and desperate, as if the words might fix what could never be
undone.
“You knew!” I interrupted, the words almost a growl coming from deep in my chest.
Victoria’s hands trembled as she clutched her mate for support. Her wolf whined loudly now,
and I could see it in her face–she knew my accusations were true. Every single one.
Scarlett stepped forward then, positioning herself in front of her mother like a shield. Her emerald eyes burned with feigned indignation.
“How dare you speak to her like this?” Scarlett snapped, her voice trembling ever so slightly, just enough to sell her act. “They raised you for fourteen years!”
The irony made my head tilt as a bitter smile twisted my lips. I laughed again, though this time it was empty, devoid of anything but disgust.

“Yes,” I said coldly, glaring at Scarlett as she tried to match my gaze and failed. “Fourteen
years, Scarlett. Fourteen years they raised me. Then I spent four years in those chains to repay
them for it.”
I took a step toward her despite the thrumming pain in my body. My wolf stirred faintly at the motion, pulling against my suppressed rage as silver wounds screamed.
“Haven’t I repaid it yet?” I asked her, my voice seething and sharp. “Or do you all think I owe
more?”
Scarlett’s lips parted, but no words seemed to form for a moment. Yet, her wolf knew it was
time to play the script.
Instead, she turned sharply, scoffing as her emerald eyes filled with perfectly placed tears.” Ungrateful,” she whispered theatrically. “Ungrateful and spiteful. They gave you a home!”
While her wolf whined before the pack like the pitiful, weakened dog she had crafted herself to be, my wolf laughed coldly inside my chest.
Before I could respond further, Lucas erupted from his position. His energy–a horrid blend of alcohol, fury, and unrelenting pride–surged forward, flooding the space.
“You,” he snarled, his voice slurred yet cutting. “You’re nothing but a manipulative wretch!”
His wolf lunged, aggressive and shameless as his golden eyes burned into mine with unrelenting heat.
“You dare,” he growled. “You dare to speak to Mother like this?”
Lucas stormed toward me, the weight of his anger pressing into the air like a swinging ax. Before I could move, his claws gripped my arm, sending sharp, fresh pain spiraling through my
already raw burns.
“Lucas, stop!” Victoria cried again, her voice flailing as uselessly as her gaze darting between
He ignored her completely. His wolf let out a low, guttural snarl as he stepped closer, towering over my smaller frame with his unbalanced rage.
“Whatever Marcus did to you,” he spat, his words heavy with drunken venom, “you deserved
worse, Celeste.”
The weight of his words landed with a force that made my body sway slightly. Those five words–you deserved worse, Celeste–echoed inside me louder than the sound of Marcus’s
chains had.

Chapter 105: So Everyone knew
My wolf trembled but didn’t shrink. Years ago, Lucas’s voice might have had a hold on me. Not
now.
The faint sound of my name slipping from someone’s trembling voice reached me–Victoria again. But her words barely registered now.
Alpha James’s voice cut through the chaos like thunder.
“Enough!”
His wolf ripped through the tension, silencing Lucas mid–threat. His aura swept heavy enough to make Lucas falter. Yet, even this authority did little to quell the sharp ache from the
realization burning inside me: none of it mattered.
