Chapter 119: Brother’s Beg
(Celeste’s POV)
The moonstone altar pulsed softly, its ancient energy humming in the background like a
distant heartbeat. It made the air feel heavy, the weight of the Moon Goddess’s presence
undeniable.
My body trembled from Marcus’s torment, the pain gnawing at me, but I stood tall, letting the
energy ground me. This place, sacred and unyielding, would bear witness to what came next.
With the gathered wolves watching with unease, I spoke. “By pack law and under the Moon
Goddess’s gaze,” I declared, my voice carrying over the crowd like a cold wind, “I demand
justice. Equal justice.”
The words hung in the air, chilling, absolute. Gasps whispered through the gathered pack like
a fragile ripple in still waters. They weren’t expecting this. Invoking sacred pack law in the
Moon Temple meant one thing–no one could hide from truth or judgment.
“Grace Bennett,” I said sharply, my cold tone slicing through the growing whispers. “You will
face the same judgment as my guard Nina. Thirty silver–laced lashes for your betrayals.”
Grace’s wolf bristled visibly. She clutched Scarlett’s arm tightly, taking a nervous step back as
if trying to meld into her mistress’s shadow. Her trembling voice broke through the still air.
“I’ve already apologized!” she cried, her words trembling along with her body. “I apologized to
Luna Victoria, to Lucas, to Second Daughter Scarlett! What more do you want from me?”
A bitter laugh escaped me, sharp and hollow. The sound made several of the pack wolves flinch. My silver–scarred wolf stirred beneath my skin, snarling from deep within.
“How noble of you,” I said icily, my voice drawing each word out painfully, “to apologize to them. To everyone but the person your false testimony actually condemned to Moon Shadow
Prison.”
Grace flinched at my words, her head ducking lower as her wolf submitted faintly. But before she could respond, Scarlett stepped forward. Her movement was delicate, deliberate, meant to
draw focus.
“Sister, please!” she pleaded, her emerald eyes shimmering with perfect tears as she
positioned herself defensively in front of Grace. Her wolf radiated false submission, projecting

innocence.
“Grace has been loyal,” Scarlett continued, her voice trembling artfully. “She has served us faithfully for years. She didn’t understand pack law back then!”
Her words struck their intended chords, making several beta wolves glance at each other nervously. Pack law was sacred, but the image Scarlett painted–a loyal, ignorant servant- plucked at their sympathies.
I couldn’t contain the cold laughter that bubbled up. The sound echoed off the walls, jagged and sharp.
“How interesting,” I said, cutting through Scarlett’s trembling voice with cold precision. “You call her loyalty admirable. So tell me, Scarlett, why are Nina’s protective instincts any different?”
The silence following my words was deafening. The gathered wolves hesitated, unsure of how to react. My violet eyes swept the room sharply, taking in their auras. Doubt and discomfort
lingered like a bitter aftertaste.
“Your precious Grace lied,” I said, my voice raising just enough to fill the temple. “She lied about the sacred moon crystal. She lied about what happened when I saved you in the sacred
moon pool. And yet here you stand, defending her ignorance.”
Scarlett whimpered, her wolf shifting closer to her as if seeking shelter from my words. I turned my focus onto Alpha James, who had remained silent until now, watching closely like a
predator choosing the right moment to strike.
Alpha James straightened, his commanding presence filling the air almost imperceptibly. His
wolf surged forward, exerting quiet dominance.
“Grace,” he said finally, his tone cutting like a blade through the rising whispers of the crowd. ”
You’ve committed grievous offenses against a member of this pack.”
Grace immediately dropped to her knees, trembling. Her wolf whined in submission as she
clasped her hands together. “Please, Alpha, Luna!” she cried, her voice trembling with fear. “I
never meant to harm anyone! I deeply regret my mistakes-”
Alpha James interrupted sharply. “Regret is not enough.” He paused, letting the weight of his
words sink in. “For your false testimony and your recent accusations, you will face the
traditional punishment–thirty silver–laced lashes and banishment from this pack’s grounds.”
A collective gasp spread through the sacred temple. Victoria’s wolf released a faint whine, her
aura trembling slightly beside Scarlett’s.

Pack guards stepped forward immediately, their movements precise and unrelenting. But before they could reach Grace, Scarlett threw herself between them and her guard.
“No! Stop!” Scarlett’s voice rang out like a strangled cry, her wolf surging forward with dramatic desperation. “Don’t take her!”
The guards hesitated, thrown off by Scarlett’s sudden display. Slamming her knees Kard against the moonstone floor, Scarlett cried louder.
“She’s loyal!” Scarlett wailed, slamming her head against the altar’s surface. The stone echoed
dully with each collision. “I’ll take the punishment! I’LL TAKE IT!”
The entire temple froze at her words. Gasps erupted everywhere as the gathered wolves stared
wide–eyed. Blood began smearing across the sacred stone as her repeated strikes against it
drew cuts across her forehead.
“Scarlett! Stop this madness!” Victoria’s distressed cry broke through the silence as she
rushed to her daughter’s side.
But Scarlett ignored her. She cried harder, her wolf curling inward submissively. Blood rolled
down her pale face as she turned her tear–streaked emerald eyes toward me.
“Sister!” Scarlett cried. Her voice hitched with emotion, perfectly timed to seem like pain.‘
Have mercy! Don’t tear someone away who matters to me!”
”
She pounded her fists weakly against the moonstone floor, more blood trickling down with every desperate motion.
“Grace doesn’t deserve this,” she continued, her voice cracking as she whimpered. “If
punishment is needed, take me! TAKE ME!”
Lucas surged forward instantly, gathering Scarlett’s crumpled form into his arms. His golden
eyes burned as he held her tightly, his wolf radiating pure emotion.
“Enough!” Lucas barked, his voice thundering across the temple. He cradled his sister,
shielding her from the guards who stood frozen in their tracks.
“Please, Celeste,” Lucas begged, his voice lower now as he held Scarlett tight against him. “
She’s already hurt enough. Please stop this.”
Scarlett whimpered pitifully in his arms, her blood staining his clothes. The metallic scent
filled the air, overwhelming my senses as the gathered wolves shifted closer to her.
