Chapter 107 Business
“So you want to make changes, don’t you? Then I presume you’ll want to have some shares, as the big profit bringing idea comes from you. Am I right?”
She laughed quietly and looked around, smiling at my dad.“Well, it’s not a bad idea, and actually if I’m working a lot on it, then I think that would be what I deserve.”
I laughed.
“Are you lacking money?” Apparently, everyone in the room disliked my question.
“Gideon.” My dad nearly shouted and his gaze could kill me this time.
But what caught my attention was Seth’s facial expression. That reminded me of what he told me today, and the situation also reminded me of Alice. Now I was certain, after I won Riccardo’s sympathy, I would leave with her. But it seemed like if I wanted to do this, I had to let them think I was ready to cooperate with them.
I smiled at them, and I sat down on the sofa, making myself comfortable.
“Never mind. Amber, you do what you want, but I won’t pay for it.”
“The club is yours, and it is your responsibility.” My father added. I looked into his eyes. I wanted to make a plan, and I was sure that would cost me a lot. I didn’t want to spend my money on something other than to be with Alice happily.
“Okay, but the next few months are usually the most busy times, so I would do every single change later.”
My father’s facial expression softened.
“That is right, son.” He said, then he looked at Amber with a smile. She didn’t like it at all.
“But if we could do some of them before, that would increase the profit for the busy period too.” Amber said.
Hearing this sentence made me fuming inside. I really tried to think of an answer, as I could see my dad was thinking.
“Gideon, you have a fat bank account, and this is a business. I can’t see the reason why you shouldn’t put money in it to make more.”
Seth couldn’t miss being the part of the conversation, and that made me feel like I could burn the whole place down. I tried to take deep breaths to calm myself.
“If my business‘ performance is bothering you so much, then feel free to take the ownership. I will happily give it to you. I have money, but I have no intention of spending it on a business that is working without improvement.”
They looked at me in disbelief. I liked that.
“But to see how kind I am. As Amber hopes to earn money by cooperating with me, I think asking her to pay the half of the expenses would be fair. Then, in that case, I’m more than happy to pay her fifty percent of the profit in the future.”
I smiled at Amber, trying to make her understand that taking the Sullivans‘ money wouldn’t be as easy as she thought. Obviously, I wasn’t serious when I said fifty percent, as I knew she had no money to pay in, but seeing her angry face satisfied me.
I stood up. I wanted to leave because I had enough of them.
“Where are you going?” My dad looked at me with a frown.
“I need some fresh air.” I told them. They didn’t hold me back. I walked outside, then I sat in my car. All that I wanted was to go home, but I knew my father wouldn’t let me. I also wished if I could talk to Alice, but I knew she was sleeping. I just read her messages.
“What are you doing, Gideon?”
Seth’s voice made me jump like I nearly dropped my phone. I looked at him for a second, then I moved my gaze back on my phone to lock the screen. “You know, for a little while, I thought you finally grew up.” He said.
Chapter 107 Business
“What do you want?” I asked him, looking into his eyes.
“I want you to go back and cooperate with Amber.”
“What has she got to do with us?” I asked him angrily.
“Well, if you wouldn’t be so ignorant when it comes to business, and you would handle a family business as you should, then our father wouldn’t need to bring in an outsider to fix the shit that you made. So be grateful and get your ass back there.”
I looked at him with a frown. How could he change so much? We were brothers, and we always were on one side. Why does he hate me so much? I questioned myself inside my mind.
I got out of the car, and I walked inside, leaving him there. I completely had enough. After getting back into the room, I found the furthest corner again, and I sat down, remaining quiet.
“Gideon, I had an idea.” Amber stood up and walked to me, which made me roll my eyes. She sat down close to me like her leg touched mine. I moved away from her, which she didn’t like at all.
“Have dinner with me tomorrow evening. We can go to a nice place. We could start over. I’m sure if we get to know each other better, you’ll see I’m here to help you.”
My eyes widened. It didn’t matter what my family would say. There was no way to cancel my date with Alice.
“No chance. I’m busy tomorrow.”
