Chapter 58 Hangover 

“Alice” He smiled while he approached me. 

“Are you rady?” 

“Yes” I nodded. 

He held my hand, and he led me out to his car. 

The way wasn’t too long, and as soon as we got out of the car, I saw Seth, holding the excited Ava’s hand. The little one wanted to run to us when she noticed us, but her dad held her back. I rushed to them, still holding Gideon’s hand. However, when we arrived, Ava’s gaze moved to our hands with a clear dislike. 

“Alice, why are you late today?” Little Ava asked me with a hint of anger in her childish voice. 

“I was up till late yesterday, and I needed to get some sleep, so I can be here with you today.” 

“A figure skater may not stay up late at night.” She commented disapprovingly. 

I looked at her suddenly just like Seth’s and Gideon’s did. Since when she became so bossy? 

“Yes Ava, you are right, but I don’t compete anymore, so I can do that sometimes.” 

“What do you mean you don’t compete?” she nearly shouted. I regretted saying that instantly. 

“Never mind, we are here, and we should go inside if you want to start.” 

I disappointed the little girl with my answer, but Seth led her in gently. We followed her. Gideon pulled me close to him, wrapping his arm around my waist. When little Ava turned around making sure we were following them, her gaze moved on his arm again. I didn’t understand why she felt so offended when she saw Gideon being intimate with me 

I took a painkiller before we came here, so my headache was gone, but 1 still felt dizzy a bit. 

Gideon and Seth sat down 

“What are we going to start with?” Ava asked. 

“We have to warm up before we go on the fort 

She nodded with disappointment, but she accepted that. So we started the procedure. The little one tried to follow every step of mine, that made me smile. Fi after a half an hour we were ready to go on the ice. Ava’s mood got better as we started skating,

She improved quickly. She showed what she learned with her other trainer. I didn’t want to confuse her, so I just observed her practice and offered suggestions on how to improve her technique. Her genuine passion for figure skating was apparent. She took everything seriously. I thought she’d go really far, if she wouldn’t get bored with practising and training. 

I really liked to be with her, but this time I couldn’t stop checking the watch. What I really wanted was to go home and get into bed. The last time she asked me to show her jumps and spins, I think watching me motivated her. This time I thought I could escape, but when I wanted to leave the ice, turning my back to her, I stiffened when I heard her speak behind me. 

“Alion, I heard about the Axil jump, they say it’s hard.” 

1 secretly closed my eyes in pain. Axel? Seriously? I quickly changed my facial expression to a smiley one while I turned back to face her. 

“Awa, the Axel jump is really difficult, but quadruples are the hardest jumps in figure skating.” 

Her eyes widened, and I regrettedly that I didn’t stay quiet. 

“What are they?” 

“Quad jumps have at least four revolutions. The Quadruple Axel has four and a half rotations. That is the most difficult jump, if you ask me. “Can you do that? 

Chapter 58 Hangover 

I laughed. 

“No, I tried many times, but I never landed it, not even once. But, to my knowledge, no one could do that yet.” 

“Can you jump Quads? 

“Yes, in competitions nowadays, judges expect those jumps.” 

“And what about the Axel?” 

“Axel is the only jump which begins with a forward take off.” 

She remained quiet for a Ettle while. 

I could see she was thinking. Probably she tried to imagine how she would do that. I felt something had was about to come 

“Show me a triple Axel, Alice.” I closed my eyes for a second while I tried to think about an excuse quickly. 

“Ava, I didn’t warm up completely for that.” 

“We still have time, Competitors usually go around the ice and attempt jumps before their turns. We still have time,” 

pretty sure you never saw the entire pro 

process of a figure skater before their performance.” 

She looked at me with a hint of
