Chapter 10: Shame? What was that (2)

"Then can you at least call your CEO and tell him something for me? Is that possible?" Bai Meiyue asked. She was not the kind of woman who would plaster her hot face against a cold butt; however, when she thought of Little Cai Cai growing in her belly, she persisted.

For the time being, she was broke with not a single penny in her account. But Lei Qian had enough money, and since he was Bai Cai's father, the least he could do was to provide them with a little security.

"Just a small message?" the receptionist asked.

"That's right," Bai Meiyue nodded, looking really innocent. Seeing that the woman was still hesitating, she clasped her hands together and pretended to be cute. "I am really sorry for putting you in a pinch like this, but I really have to meet with your boss today. No matter what."

The sooner she was done with this meeting, the sooner she would get the money in her bank and start preparing for the doomsday.

The receptionist was Bai Meiyue's fan to begin with, seeing that her idol was pleading with her, how could she resist?

She agreed and asked Bai Meiyue what she wanted to tell Lei Qian.

"Nothing. Just tell him that I am here to take my payment for last night," Bai Meiyue replied.

BOOM.

The receptionist felt something explode inside of her head, the phone receiver in her hand slipped down and she stammered, "The what?"

"The payment," Bai Meiyue repeated as she placed her hands on top of the glass surface of the reception table. "He had tossed me around like that; do I not deserve compensation for all the trouble he put me through?" Bai Meiyue asked sweetly.

What was shame in the face of survival? Only those who have starved for weeks would know that nothing came out of hesitation and feeling ashamed.

Back in the apocalyptic times, women would even open business to sell their bodies in exchange for supplies. Compared to that, this was nothing.

At the same time, on the topmost floor.

A man as beautiful as the ethereal fox described in history was pacing back and forth in his office.

"What do you think, Lu Yu?" Lei Qian asked. "Do you think that Miss Bai will find me disgusting?"

Last night, Lei Qian was drunk out of his mind. He didn't even have enough sense to tell north from south, so when a woman who resembled Bai Meiyue, the woman of his dreams, jumped into his arms, he didn't refuse her.

Instead, he welcomed Bai Meiyue with open arms. He thought that he was dreaming, but who would have thought that he really did all those heinous things?
