Chapter 31: Doing her bidding

She thought that it would take some time for someone to react to her barter request. But by the time she made a fresh meal for herself, someone had already reacted to her post and asked for a barter.

Bai Meiyue, with her sharp eyes, noticed the notification at once and was quite surprised when she saw the barter request.

However, after staying in the apocalypse, Bai Meiyue had long learnt the importance of a good meal without hurrying or gobbling down food. She first calmly finished her meal and only after finishing her meal did she accept the barter request.

Soon, she found herself in the familiar blue room. But this time around she was sitting in front of a woman who was dressed in an intergalactic shirt and pants.

"Are you Miss Bai?" the woman asked with a polite expression.

"Yes," Bai Meiyue nodded. She noticed that the woman in front of her was similar to her and didn't like to waste her time. Thus, she did not waste another second by endorsing her product and simply asked, "Are you really willing to exchange the space pocket for this jade hairpin?"

In response the woman smiled and explained, "Don't worry, Miss Bai. I know that you are worried that I will regret the barter but I won't. This jade hairpin might not be expensive in your dimension but in mine, it's ten times the amount of the space pocket."

The woman was in a similar position as Bai Meiyue, where she and her mother had been kicked out of the house by her father, who brought his mistress and son home.

The Barter System was a great tool for the woman to turn her situation around. As long as she could buy this jade hairpin, she would be able to earn a fortune that would help her in the long run.

Bai Meiyue hummed. She had no use for this hairpin and agreed with the barter at once.

Once the barter was finished, Bai Meiyue returned to her penthouse and heard a ding in her head followed by a mechanical sound.

[The Barter exchange was successful.]

[The space pocket has been transferred successfully.]

Listening to the pleasant notification tone of the Barter system, the corners of Bai Meiyue's lips curled up slightly.

She was short on storage space where things would remain fresh no matter how long they had been kept there. Now that she had obtained this equipment, Bai Meiyue's worries eased a lot.

At the same time, she was grateful that she was given another chance at life and that too with such a great golden finger. In the past, she used to believe that she had ruined a city for the unlucky things that she had gone through.

From being brainwashed by her father and becoming his cash cow to being caught and thrown in the street to be scolded while Bai Xue rose to fame after stepping on her.
