Violette was sure as hell not going to answer that question. She couldn't exactly say no either, so she carefully said, "Please don't bring up anything about him. I'm worried your magazine won't be able to hit the stands."
Her response made the magazine crew have an "aha" moment.
"Alright, Ms. Dennis. You're a med school grad, why did you want to start your own business? What made you choose this path?" The reporter asked.
This question made Violette frown.
If she were to really go into it, she'd be talking all day. She was going to keep it short and sweet. Just as she was about to speak, a wave of nausea hit her like a truck.
She clapped a hand over her mouth, making a beeline for the bathroom.
"Ms. Dennis! Are you okay?" Two staff members hurried after her.
It happened so suddenly, and no one had time to react.
Once Violette made it to the bathroom, she started puking her guts out!
Everything she had eaten for lunch came back up. The discomfort was so intense, her eyes watered.
After emptying her stomach, the discomfort vanished like magic. She flushed the toilet and steadied herself against the wall.
Hearing the commotion, Mike rushed in, striding into the bathroom.
"Violette, what happened?" he grabbed her arm, turning her to face him, "You look pale as a ghost! Did you throw up?"
Even though she wasn't feeling as sick anymore, she felt weak after throwing up. She wanted to go home and lie down.
Ever since finding out she was pregnant, she hadn't driven herself. She had severe morning sickness with her first pregnancy and was worried this one would be the same. Driving under these conditions could be dangerous.
After leaving the office, she hailed a cab on the street. Once she got home, she sprawled on her living room couch and texted Odette.
After giving it some thought, she decided to tell Odette about her pregnancy.
Upon receiving her text, Odette immediately found a private place and called her. "Violette! You're pregnant?! Who's the father?! Holy cow! This is shocking! I nearly had a heart attack!" Odette was shouting on the other end of the line, extremely worked up.
Her level of excitement even surpassed when she met Kylee.
