Mike buried his face in his hands, crying out, "I regret it so much. Why did I say those cruel words to her last night?"

Elijah couldn't help but feel his eyes well up as he recalled the events of the previous night.

"She seemed so scared and helpless; even if I couldn't immediately rescue her, I shouldn't have said those things. She must have felt more desperate after hearing my words..." Mike was overwhelmed by his guilt.

Elijah swallowed hard. "Stop crying. How's the mission going?"

Mike wiped away his tears and glanced at the progress on the computer screen. "It's almost done... definitely by tonight. My head hurts. What should I do if Violette really died?"

Elijah dared not contemplate such a possibility.

"Maybe you should go home and take a shower," Mike suggested, looking at the stubble on Elijah's chin, realizing he might have been suffering even more than himself. Violette was pregnant with his child after all.

Elijah stood there, looking lost, as if he hadn't heard Mike's words.

"You should go check on the kids, and Makayla." Mike raised his voice.

Elijah finally reacted, replying, "Mm."

As he reached the door, Mike sighed, "You're planning on taking the gun back? Elijah, Violette will be fine. She's so tough, she won't go down unless she sees Silver King drop dead with her own eyes."

Elijah finally set the gun on the table and strode out of the room.

"No, she's safe. I just came back to check on you guys and to take a shower. I'll pick her up tonight," he bent down to pick up Rita. "Ian, lead the way."

Ian clenched his jaw and led the way, temporarily putting aside his hostility. He needed to rely on Elijah to save his mom now.

When they reached the villa, Ian opened the door. Elijah put down Rita and changed his shoes by the door. Elisa, the nanny who had come with them, immediately greeted Elijah.

"Where's Makayla?" Elijah asked after changing shoes.

"Makayla went to the hospital to see Adrian." Elisa replied. "I had a bodyguard take her. I stayed to look after the kids."
