Awake for Love: My Coma Bridegroom novel Chapter 627

Sarah shook her head. "I didn't see anything, because my eyes had been gouged out by the time I realized it! The pain was unbearable! I heard Violette say it was my retribution. I heard it clear as day. Elijah, I wouldn't lie to you! I've lost everything, I have no reason to lie to you!"

"Her voice?" Elijah asked incredulously, "Are you sure you didn't mishear?"

"Impossible! I couldn't have misheard her voice! Because I hate her so much!" Sarah tightly clutched Elijah's hand like it was her lifeline. "Elijah! I swear I'm not lying to you! If I were, you could easily find out! I beg you... please, for the sake of our past relationship, have pity on me..."

Elijah looked at Sarah's quivering lips and pale face, and his heart felt heavy. His gut told him Sarah was telling the truth, but a voice in his head reminded him that Violette couldn’t have done such a thing!

“Sarah, I will find out the truth,” he promised. “In the meantime, focus on your recovery.”

Sarah shook her head violently. “No... I won’t... I’ll go back to the US when my dad comes. I’ll ask my friends for help, to assist my suicide. I can’t accept being blind...”

Sarah laughed until her voice broke into sobs.

“No matter what you find out, it won’t matter to me. Because I am certain, I heard Violette's voice! She's the culprit! There's no other explanation!" Sarah choked out. "I'll be waiting for her in hell!"

By the time he left the hospital, it was pitch dark outside. A drizzle fell from the sky. The bodyguard held an umbrella over Elijah.

Once they got into the car, the bodyguard asked, "Boss, where to?"

Elijah's jaw clenched, his voice icy. "Silverleaf Bay."

Sarah was now hell-bent on dying, and even willing to abandon her unborn child. He had to find Violette and ask her directly if she was behind this.

If not, all the better. If so, why was she so cruel?

Elijah got out of the car, ignoring the bodyguard’s umbrella, and strode towards her in the rain. Underneath the street lamp, his face looked grim. A sense of foreboding welled up inside her.

She had no idea what was going on; she couldn’t guess. Before she could gather her thoughts, he was already in front of her.

“Why aren’t you under the umbrella?” She asked anxiously, looking at his wet face and clothes, “What happened?”

“Sarah came to confront you yesterday morning, didn’t she?” He stood in the doorway, not bothering to change his shoes or step inside. His piercing gaze was fixed on her.

She disliked his bare and blatant stare. "I told you it was a minor issue..."

"Her eyes have been gouged out. She claims you did it." He cut her off, urgency in his voice. "Violette, tell me, did you do it?"
