Awakening Luna: Darkness Holding the Light by Majie novel Chapter 10

CHAPTER TEN

ADELIA

Lewis’ unexpected action startled me. Yet, I did not stop him – at least that was what I tried to do. I trusted him, and I knew that he would not do anything that would bring me harm. However, I could not stay still when I felt something very cold dampened my skin. “Wha-!” I loudly exclaimed as I tried to unsuccessfully retrieve my leg. “Be good, it will be over soon,” Lewis softly said as he held my leg in place. I repeatedly blinked as I saw him putting frozen gel over the wounds on my leg. The cold gel immediately penetrated my broken skin, immediately mending it, but in the process sent icy chills on my bone.

I had always been very weak to cold. I closed my eyes and took sharp breaths every time I felt the biting coldness that seeped through my inner body. Thankfully, after a few minutes, he was done with his treatment. Lewis thoughtfully looked at my legs and gently rubbed it. The wounds that were previously there were healed.

“Are you alright?” He asked me with a worried tone. ‘So many things happened… Leven forgot that I had a couple of small wounds from that time when father smashed that cabinet,’ I thought to myself. ‘That gel is so miraculous. It’s very cold at first but it managed to instantly heal me.’ …. and it even feels so good on my skin right now.’ “I’m alright,” I told Lewis. “Thank you. It feels… good right now,” I added with amazement. “Good,” Lewis said before I felt a hand on top of my head. “You should get more sleep,” he added before gently pushing me on the bed. Immediately, the dignified insignia was back on my sight as I felt the softness of the bed at my back. I was in an unfamiliar place and despite my ability to see the visions that represented the future, my path had become uncertain. Surprisingly, I was very calm.. and comfortable. ‘Our future is now changing, isn’t it, Ylva?’ I gently asked my wolf who hummed in reply. Suddenly, I felt a warm palm over my eyes, blocking my sight. “Sleep,” I heard Lewis say. His voice was gentle, unknowingly giving reassurance to my anxious heart.

It was a pair of bright, silver eyes that greeted me when I opened my eyes once more. I blinked to make sure that I was not seeing a vision. The bright eyes blinked back at me and stared at me with disbelief.
