Back and Better book novel Chapter 9

Chapter Nine “Mate”

As I run upstairs to my room to collect my credit card and get ready for shopping, I get a call from my dad. My real dad, Alpha Anatol.

I pick it up immediately. “Hey papa. What’s up?” I ask him cheerily.

“Darling. After what Damon told me about the packs lack of training, I’ve decided to send another packs Alpha and select few warriors to help you.”

Excellent decision. At the end of the day Anatol is basically the Alpha of Alpha’s, so everyone listens to him. “Okay. Who’s the pack and what would you like me to do?” I question.

“It’s the Oak Wood pack. The soon to be Alpha of it, Christian, will be coming along with his beta and third. They should be arriving within a few hours, and I believe they’ll be staying in the same hotel you are. So please play nice with them and try to make friends.” … How does he know I’m staying in a hotel? And what hotel I’m staying in? Ah, f**k it. He’s Alpha Anatol- he knows everything

“Okay, papa. I was just going to go shopping with Antha and move into the hotel. Is it okay if I perhaps go to dinner with his men and bring the brothers tonight?”

“That’s a lovely idea, sweetheart. Thave to go, but coordinate with Damon. He’ll take care of things.” As soon as Thang up Damon strolls into the room, giving me the perfect opportunity to inform him.

“Yeah, I knew he was coming. I’ll make reservations at a stake house and send you the info. Anyways, are you sure you want to move out?”

1 shoot Damon a look. “Yes, I’m positive.”

After he leaves 1 pack up the things that I only unpacked yesterday. Thank heavens I didn’t take much to begin with.

I tell Antha to meet at the shopping mall in an hour so I can go settle into my hotel. I’m staying at the Grand America, best hotel in the area.

I ended up getting a royal suite, so it’s basically like an apartment. After unpacking everything I head over to the shopping mall where I meet Anthą.

One of the few things that Antha and I bondin is clothing taste. We both have a strange mix of styles we like. We both like the jeans and crop top look, but we also like business formal looks, dresses, etc.

In many ways I’m a tom boy, but when it comes to shopping, makeup, and a select few other things? I’m a total girly

girl.

We hit stores like forever 21 before moving on to high end ones. Two hours later I have more bags than I can carry, and have to go home to get ready for the dinner. Antha and I part ways with a hug.

Upon getting home I put away all of my new clothes nicely before getting ready. I don’t like going heavy on makeup so I generally just go for my signature red lipstick, winged eye, and bit of mascara. I’ll sometimes use more products, but I never use foundation or concealer. I just don’t need it.

An hour and a half later I arrive at the steakhouse. I’m about fifteen minutes late, but I’m sure Damon knew I would be. I’m not someone who often gives two shits about punctuality.

As the waiter shows me to my table, a single word comes to my mind. -. Mate. f**k, is Erebus here?

Once I’m close enough to the table I do a brief scan. Unfortunately Erebus is there, but that’s not who I’m feeling a pull towards

No, it’s the man sitting next to Damon, exuding Alpha energy. It’s Christian.

“I honestly didn’t think about that, but I suppose you are correct. I’m fine with sharing, if that is what the moon goddess chose.”

I stand from Christian’s lap as if it’s made of fire.

“No… no! You’ve got to be shitting me! Do you know that I attempted suicide because of him?” I question Christian.

“Baby, I can tell he’s changed from the guy who once hurt you, because that alpha looks like he would rather die than let anything happen to you.. And I can also tell that we’re meant to share you. I don’t f**k with fate. If this is our destiny, this is it. I’m not fighting it.”

I scoff. Is he f*****g serious?

“Oh my god. I get one mate that drove me to suicide, and another who thinks that’s acceptable. I can’t f*****g believe this” I whisper.

“Baby-“Christian starts, but I interrupt him. “Don’t call me baby. I’m not your baby. In fact, none of us are anything to each other. f**k this mate S**t, I’m out.

I attempt to storm off, only to be snatched back by Erebus. “You will be ours” he whispers in my ear. “I don’t care if we have to mark you by force. You belong to us.” Christian adds in.

Great. So I got stuck with dumb and dumber. How absolutely fantastic. In a split second I manage to get out of Erebus’s hold and throw him at Christian.

“The only person I belong to is myself. Go f**k yourselves.” I spit at them before walking out of the restaurant. And to think that I sat on that asshole, Christian’s, lap for the whole dinner.
