Michael was usually an easy–going person. 

Seeing him get angry, the other band members quickly kept silent. 

In the car, Mikayla turned her back to Jerome. 

She refused to engage in any conversation with him. 

Though Jerome remained silent as well, his expression was grim, as if he was trying hard to suppress 

something. 

He was probably waiting for Mikayla to explain herself for having dinner with Michael and the others. 

Even if they were on the verge of divorce, normal couples shouldn’t interfere with each other’s friendships. 

So, Mikayla wasn’t obliged to provide an explanation to him. 

Soon, the car arrived at Dragoncrest Villa. 

She got out of the car and headed into the house without so much as batting an eye at Jerome.. 

Upon seeing her, Amy breathed a sigh of relief. 

“Madam, you finally returned. You have no idea how upset Sir looked when he left. I was so afraid.” 

Mikayla immediately realized something. 

“He came back?” 

“Yes, he came back around 6:00 pm… Sir.” 

Amy didn’t finish her sentence as she noticed Jerome entering the house and promptly greeted him. 

Mikayla frowned. 

“Weren’t you supposed to attend an appointment?” 

Wasn’t Mike waiting for Jerome at the steakhouse? 

Jerome ignored her question. 

Instead, he went upstairs. 

He was the one who insisted on sending her home without taking her opinion into account. 

Now, he was acting as if she owed him a favor. 

There was definitely something wrong with his mind. 

“Madam, did you come back with Sir?” Amy asked. 

Mikayla nodded. 

“Yes. I ran into him when I was leaving with my friends.” 

“That’s strange. When Sir came back earlier, he told me he had no appointments,” Amy muttered. 

“Maybe something came up suddenly,” Mikayla said. “Amy, you should carry on what you’re doing. I’m going back to my room.” 

When Mikayla returned to her bedroom, Jerome was already seated on her chair, seemingly waiting for 

her. 

She frowned. 

“Did you forget? I told you not to enter my room. 

With his legs crossed, Jerome spoke coldly, “Mikayla, let’s settle everything here.”

“What do I have to settle with you?” 

Jerome pulled out a document and tossed it to her. 

“You invested in Ansoft?” 

She thought about the message he sent at noon, asking if she had something to say, she guessed it was related to this. 

Mikayla wasn’t surprised that he knew about her investment in Ansoft. 

She said nonchalantly, “I’m not using your money. It’s my money.” 

Jerome slightly choked. 

“Did I ask about the money?” 

“What else can it be?” 

“You planned the incident at the party from the beginning, am I right?” 

Mikayla realized what was going on. 

“You’re suspecting that I bribed the hotel staff last night to harm Kylie with the falling chandelier for the sake of Ansoft?” 

Seeing the indifferent and mocking expression on her face, Jerome felt a surge of anger rising within him, 

He said coldly, “This isn’t the first time you’ve done something like this!” 

Hearing this, Mikayla chuckled. 

No matter her past life, or this current one, Jerome had never believed her.
