“I didn’t expect you to read through the information so quickly.” 

“I didn’t read it. I didn’t need to,” Taylor teased. “You’re so capable, Ms. Davidson.” 

She was baffled. 

“It’s just some rough information. Is it that good?” 

“Stop acting,” he said playfully. “Jerome treats you really nice. It doesn’t look like he wants to abandon you at all.” 

“Mr. Blue, please be more direct? I don’t understand what you mean.” 

Taylor must be lifting his legs, with a lazy voice, he replied, “I just received the news. Professor Xander has decided that you’ll be in charge of promoting and distributing their medicine.” 

Mikayla was shocked. 

“How is this possible? It has to be fake!” 

She’d just met with Baldwin yesterday. 

He clearly intended to work with the Miller Group, and Kylie had already negotiated 

with him. 

Why did he suddenly decide to choose her after only one day? 

Taylor snorted. 

“My news is always accurate. I believe Jerome actually cares about you. Or maybe this is compensation for the divorce?” 

She didn’t bother to respond to his gossipy questions. 

“How’s the thing I asked you to help with?” she inquired instead. 

She had to expedite the matter if Baldwin really chose her as the person in charge. 

Taylor sounded excited.

“Thanks. I’ll call you later.” 

Mikayla ended the call and called Jerome. 

The phone rang for a while. 

Just as she thought he wouldn’t answer, his deep voice sounded. 

“What’s the matter?” 

It was quiet on the other end of the phone. 

Jerome asked briefly and concisely. 

It was as if he had something to deal with. 

She asked, “Are you in a meeting? I can call you later.” 

“Just go ahead.” 

“Okay.” Mikayla went straight to the point. “Are you really letting me be in charge 

of Professor Xander’s project?” 

“You got the news so quickly,” Jerome said. “Don’t you want that?” 

So it was true! 

She did want it, but why was he being so generous to give her the project just because she wanted it? 

“But-” 

“Professor Xander will send someone to contact you later. I have something to do now. I’ll hang up first.” 

After saying that, he hung up. 

Kylie looked at Jerome. 

“Is that Mrs. Miller? Are you sure you really want to give her Professor Xander’s project?” 

He set his phone aside and said nothing.
