Chapter 216
“Isn’t this the internal employee group chat of the Miller Group? Why are you in it?” Mikayla stared at
Celeste and asked.
Celeste nonchalantly took back her phone and continued reading the messages.
“It’s not a work group. It’s just a gossip group that they created separately. Connor invited me,” she said..
Mikayla found it amusing. “You’re quite well–connected. Not only are you close with Connor, but you’ve
quickly made your way inside the Miller Group?”
“I’m just trying to gather some firsthand gossip. Don’t worry, nobody knows about our relationship. What they’re saying in the group is all genuine,” Celeste replied.
Mikayla was flabbergasted.
In one of the rooms at the resort, Kylie was reading through some documents when the continuous
notifications from the group chat disturbed her.
Her forehead injury hadn’t fully healed yet, so she couldn’t come into contact with water, let alone steam.
She was unable to join the others in having fun, so she decided to stay indoor and look for projects for
Jensen.
Noticing the lively discussion in the group chat, Kylie was eager to know what the big news was.
Upon opening the chat, she saw the photos of Jerome and Mikayla. Her smile froze on her face.
There were several photos of them embracing intimately, and Jerome was looking at Mikayla tenderly.
Kylie gripped her phone tightly, wishing she could crush it.
Before coming here, she had confirmed with Jerome’s secretary that he was alone.
Why was Mikayla here? They were even showing their affection publicly!
Kylie tried to remain calm.
She messaged Aubrey. “What’s taking you so long? Have you mend your relationship with Mikayla yet?”
No one provided her any updates, so she had to be more proactive.
Aubrey responded by directly calling her. “Ms. White, Mikayla is very wary of me now. She refuses to listen to anything I say. I can’t rush things.”
“So you’ll just let it be?” Kylie asked coldly.
“Don’t worry. Didn’t I tak
your suggestion to re–establish business ties with the Davidson family? Once everything is settled, I’ll use that opportunity to visit Mr. Davidson Senior more often. Mikayla will have no choice but to pay attention to me then,” Aubrey replied.
“Why did Mikayla suddenly keep her distant from you?” Kylle frowned and pressed for answers.
Aubrey couldn’t understand it either.
“I really don’t know what’s going on. When you posted on your Instagram, I suggested that we should go teach you a lesson. But she didn’t react at all. I was reluctant to go alone, so I went ahead and sent her the recorded video. After that, she severed ties with me,” she replied.
“I can feel that she’s become much smarter and decisive lately,” Aubrey added. “So, I can’t underestimate her anymore, which is why I’m planning on winning Mr. Davidson Sentor’s favor.”
In fact, it wasn’t just Aubrey. Kylie herself had noticed this change in Mikayla’s behavior as well.
Mikayla had become much smarter and was no longer easily provoked. She also no longer acted impulsively and appeared to have no interest in Jerome.
Kylie didn’t believe that Mikayla truly had no feelings for Jerome. It was just that she had upped her game and had grasped the weakness of men–they desired what they couldn’t have.
This was what made Jerome start to look at her differently.
Given the current situation, it was clear that trying to make Jerome dislike or distance himself from Mikayla wouldn’t work. Kylie had never been able to figure out what his thoughts were.
Despite Mikayla’s many reckless actions, Jerome had never shown any inclination for divorce.
Though Wanda forbade it, Jerome would’ve found a way if he really wanted a divorce.
Since Kylie couldn’t break through Jerome, she decided to tackle Mikayla instead.
After all, making a woman give up was much easier than making a man give up.
Kylie calmed herself down.
Her tone became softer, and she said to Aubrey, “Keep up the good work. You’d be rewarded greatly.”
