Chapter 274
Mikayla wondered whether their divorce would proceed smoothly.
“What were you talking about with Jerome? Did you two fight?” Louisa asked as she approached her.
Mikayla glanced up at her. “What brings you here?”
Louisa sat down next to her. She looked irritated as she replied, “My mom forced me to come. She wants to see whether there are any eligible bachelors.”
Matilda just wouldn’t let any chance to marry Louisa off to a rich man slip.
“What’s wrong?” Mikayla asked. She figured Louisa wasn’t here to make small talk. They weren’t that
close, after all,
“Jerome said he has a friend in Aveloria, right? I’d like to ask if he could introduce me to his friend.”
“Didn’t you see Jerome earlier? Why didn’t you ask him?”
A hint of awkwardness flashed across Louisa’s features. Recalling how she and Mikayla talked about
Jerome in the toilet, she didn’t dare to trouble Jerome again.
“You’re his wife. Of course, you have to do it! Else you’d think I was trying to hook up with him.”
Frustrated, Louisa snapped, “Are you going to help me out or not? You clearly said you hoped I could study overseas. Was it a lie?”
Mikayla glanced over at her. “What’s the point of introducing you to Jerome’s friend? Has Aunt Matilda approved your plan to study abroad yet?”
“She hasn’t, but I’ve managed to convince my dad. I’ll persuade them some more in these few days since they’re in a good mood. Perhaps my mom will agree by then.”
She beamed. “Well, I wanna be well informed regarding the situation in Aveloria. I don’t want to be
unprepared.”
Louisa seemed pretty determined. She had convinced Stephen and even went as far as to obtain
information about the school.
“I’ll find a chance to ask Jerome later, but I can’t guarantee that he’ll agree,” Mikayla said. He was visibly displeased when he left earlier. There was nothing she could do if he decided to hold a grudge against
her.
“It’s not a big deal. How could he possibly refuse?” Louisa snickered. “It seems like you aren’t that important to him.”
Mikayla rolled her eyes. “Since you’re a know–it–all, why don’t you ask him yourself? Why ask me instead?”
Louisa was rendered speechless.
“Jensen’s no longer pestering you, right?” Mikayla asked.
