Chapter 49
Taylor chuckled at Mikayla and said lazily, “Ms. Davidson, this is a rare
opportunity. Once we settle his troubles for him, do we need to worry about taking Ansoft over?”
“His behavior is abhorrent, and his character is lowly. It would mean a huge risk for investment banking. What if his scandal is exposed before the IPO? How would you gain any profit?”
Taylor showed an unfazed countenance.
“Johnny usually plays it safe. Otherwise, his background wouldn’t have been so hard to uncover. Once we quash this incident, he would refrain from making any moves for a while. It’s not that much of a risk.
“Even if there are risks, isn’t success in taking calculated risks? In our line of -work, aren’t some risks worth it?”
Mikayla scoffed at Taylor’s carefree smile.
“You never even considered asking for my opinion.”
Taylor shifted into a more relaxed posture.
“What do you mean, Ms. Davidson? I informed you of the results, didn’t I? Don’t you think I’m showing you considerable respect?”
At the sight of Taylor’s playful and nonchalant demeanor, Mikayla knew the
decision was set in stone.
As Mikayla had requested to work together, Taylor’s interest in her actions surpassed the collaboration itself.
Now that Taylor could easily take over Ansoft, her presence had lost significance to him.
“Well then, let’s pretend that my proposal never existed,” Mikayla remarked, ”
but I didn’t expect you to have such blurred moral lines, It seems that you know no boundaries at all. With that character of yours, I don’t see the need for us to partner.”
With that being said, Mikayla rose to her feet to leave. However, Taylor abruptly halted her.
“Hold on, Ms. Davidson.”
Mikayla looked at him with an air of indifference.
Taylor grinned mischievously,
He asked, “Are you really going to give up this opportunity? If you’re not on board with me, how do you plan to compete with Jerome’s sweetheart, Kylie?”
Mikayla wasn’t surprised that Taylor had looked into her and knew about her
intentions.
However, Taylor was only aware of a part of the story.

Mikayla said icily, “You needn’t worry about me. As long as I remain focused on my goal, I’ll find a solution somehow.”
As Taylor was about to speak up, his phone began to ring.
Mikayla knew that it was Taylor’s men reporting to him. So she lifted her feet to depart as Taylor unlocked his phone.
“What?” Taylor responded in an elevated tone.
“Stop right there!” Taylor called after Mikayla.
Taylor’s attitude was clear with enmity, and his gaze emitted a chilling
coldness.
Mikayla furrowed her brows.
“What’s the matter? Why are you looking at me like that?”
Taylor smirked with a cold edge.
“Mrs. Miller, you and Jerorne are putting up quite a show, huh? While he was dealing with Johnny, you’re here stalling for time!”
Who knew Jerome had received the news about Johnny and had taken action?
“Still, you’re discussing human nature with me in such a righteous manner.
Quite the performer, aren’t you? Should I introduce you to the entertainment industry, Mrs. Miller?”
