Be Your Own Spring novel Chapter 106

My eyes widened and I shook my head knowing I can't even close my eyes without Kezr beside me.

"Lay-I mean mom, please no. I can't sleep without him." I said pleadingly and looked at Kezr when he said, "Babe, don't listen to her, we're going to sleep to-" he got cut off when Layla smacked his head again. But this time really hard.

"Do you know my shoe size?" She asked Kezr and I saw him gulp visibily.

I now felt a pain in my heart not wanting to be without him.

"This is absolutely absurd! We are already married, we don't need to be away from each other!" Kezr whined and shouted at Mom.

FLASHBACK ENDS

And you know the rest.

I sighed and walked to the kitchen to drink water.

I came back to the couch and saw a sticky note placed there beside the pillow.

Meet me at the roof at 3.

Be as quiet as possible.

-your secret admirer ;)

I smiled at the note and kept it in my back pocket.

I impatiently kept waiting for the clock to hit three but it seemed like time had decided to slow down completely.

It was two right now and I decided to go to the roof early... Yeah. One hour early. Expecting to see Kezr.

I went upstairs tip toeing carefully, not wanting to wake up Layla and hear an earful.

I was on the last step and heard the door to the guest room creak.

And, fudge me!

Layla came out in her night dress and smirked at me, "Going somewhere Ella?"

I shook my head and she nodded.

She kept looking at me, I did too.

We just stood there looking at each other when she finally decided to speak.

"Well, Get down from there!" I hurridly got off the last step and rushed to the living room hearing a quiet chuckle which sounded like Elijah's.

I waited for Layla to go in but she just stood there, in front of her door looking at me, making me all awkward.

I just kept awkwardly smiling at her here and there and she just kept looking at me with a bored look.

After about 25 minutes of struggle and awkwardness she finally left not before telling me that she was an eagle who'll hunt down her prey to no extent.
