Be Your Own Spring novel Chapter 109

A knock interrupted our kiss and our heads turned to the door.

Kezr let the duvet down and got out off bed. He opened the door and I saw him stiffen his back and posture.

"Where's Ella?" I heard Layla ask.

Oh shoot! I have to apologize to her for acting so weird. She must think that I am some weirdo. If she didn't already.

"I don't know. Maybe in her room..... Maybe not." Kezr replied lying straight through his white gorgeous teeth.

Who thinks a person's teeth is gorgeous?

Me. A simp for Kezr.

I rolled my eyes and looked at the door to see Layla still there but now arguing with Kezr.

"Kezr, tell me where she is or I'll beat you with my high heels!" Layla's voice took me out of my trance and not wanting my husband to be at the altar with a black eye tomorrow, I got off the bed and hurried over to Kezr.

"Here, here, Iam here." I let my presence known causing Kezr to throw his head back and groan in disapproval.

Layla looked at me and scanned me up and down and suddenly engulfed me into a large, warm, motherly hug.

"Iam sorry for what I did. Iam sorry I scared you dear, but you know the ritual is important too." Layla said and rubbed my back up and down while hugging me tightly.

I looked at Kezr and saw him mouth the words, 'fuck the ritual' to which I had to stop myself from breaking a smile and instead I glared at him and rolled my eyes.

At first I awkwardly hugged Layla back but then her motherly nature rubbed on me and I tightened my hold around her.

"It's okay, Iam okay. Sorry that I acted like that, I just..."I didn't know what to say as I wasn't comfortable into talking about this stuff with Layla.

Thankfully my saviour decided to interrupt me and spoke, "Ma, does she really have to go?"

I smiled at him and he poked his tongue at me causing me to giggle and him smile.

Layla released me from the hug and went to Kezr and slapped him right across his cheek.

No! My love.

"Stop saying that, she does! And she will..... Right?"

She looked at me and I instantly nodded knowing very well to not get on her bad side.
