Mistress And Wife, A Face off 

He said simply, ‘Apologise to Kayleigh.” 

‘What?‘ Giana cried out. 

Kira felt as if someone had emptied a bucket of ice water over her head. 

She trembled. 

Her hands shook. 

It was difficult to draw in breath. 

She pinched her thigh. 

The pain kept her mind focused and kept the tears at bay. 

‘What did you just say?” 

‘Apologise to Kayleigh,‘ he repeated, word for word. 

‘Why? 

“You threw a brick at her, resulting in an injury that required hospitalisation and multiple stitches.” 

‘She hit me as well!‘ Kira shouted. 

‘But you’re not injured, she is. The doctor said that wound could’ve been fatal.“” 

Behind Austyn, Kayleigh flashed a triumphant smile at Kira. 

The actress tilted her chin. 

She was not Cinderella. 

She was Lady Tremaine. 

Kira lip–read Kayleigh’s silent taunt. 

This man loves me. Right or wrong doesn’t matter to him. He’ll always side with me. Why don’t you kneel and admit defeat?‘ 

Kira looked away. 

Austyn pinched her chin to turn her face back. 

His eyes were dark, bottomless abysses. 

‘Apologise. Now.” 

The menace in his ultimatum was unmistakable. 

Kira inferred the rest of his threat. 

If she didn’t apologise, it was her father who would pay the price. 

Kira pushed his hand away. 

She gave him a brilliant smile. ‘Okay, I’ll apologise.” 

Austyn was stung by the look in her eyes. 

Kira faced Kayleigh. ‘Miss Woods, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have hit you with a brick. Can you forgive me?” 

Kayleigh, magnanimous in victory, said in a sweet voice, ‘Oh, of course I forgive you. Forgive and forget, right? Frankly, I’ve already put it behind me, but Austyn insisted…Anyway, he’s just concerned about me. Please don’t be mad at him, Miss Hewitt.”

Her smug smile shot a dagger straight through Kira’s heart. 

Kira lowered her eyes to hide the tears that were welling up. 

Apologising to Austyn’s mistress was more humiliating than being stripped naked in public. 

“Now that one apology is done,‘ Austyn’s voice broke the heavy silence in the room. It’s time for the other.” 

The other apology? 

All three women’s heads snapped up. 

Giana was puzzled, 

Kira was bewildered. 

Kayleigh was confused. 

The actress asked, ‘Austyn, what are you talking about? 

Ignoring her, Austyn strode up to Kira, who immediately looked away. 

His eyes fell on Kira’s red eyes and clenched fists. 

She moved fast, but he still caught a fleeting glimpse of the rage burning in her eyes. 

If it was just the two of them in the room, those fists would not be resting by her side. 

They would be raining blows on him. 

Giana was fuming. 

She felt for her best friend. 

If it were up to her, she would’ve thrown out both the cheating husband and his braze–faced mistress. 

But the M Group’s president was not someone a mere university student could go up against. 

Giana was disappointed. 

Two hours ago, she had talked to Austyn. 

She’d asked him not to hurt Kira. 

Even if he didn’t love his wife, at least treat her with respect. 

He did not reply then. 

But now Giana understood his answer, loud and clear. 

Not only did he bring his other woman here, but to add insult to injury, he demanded his wife apologise to his mistress!
