Kai was about to leave the office.

Kira told him Gideon was the neighbour’s kid.
But a man’s intuition told Austyn that there was more to the story.

Her hometown was Milton, thousands of miles away from Stamford.
Kai had not had time to do a more thorough check, including Kira’s childhood and extended family.
