More Than Just One Lesson 

‘Oh yeah?’ Austyn raised the box above his head. ‘Come and get it.” 

‘Give it back!‘ Kira scrambled to her feet. 

The top of her head barely reached Austyn’s chest 

Kira hopped and jumped, but the box remained out of her reach. 

After a few attempts, she started to feel dizzy, 

Austyn’s face began to swim before her eyes. 

She saw double, no, triple, no… 

There were four of her husbands! 

Kira blacked out, falling backwards onto the bed. 

‘That’s all you got?” 

The instigator of the childish prank leaned in to check on his victim. 

With a triumphant smile, he lifted the lid of the box. 

What treasure was she hiding… 

He realised she might have meant the word literally. 

The box was stuffed with cash. 

One–dollar notes and fivers were stacked into separate piles, secured with rubber bands. 

There was also a small wad of ten–dollar notes. 

So this was her secret stash. 

Austyn was amused, but also a little disappointed. 

He’d expected something more….interesting. 

Even her secret was so vanilla. 

He was about to put back the lid when he spotted a square shape in the corner. 

It was an A5–sized notebook, the kind typically used for diaries. 

Austyn flipped it open. 

He recognised Kira’s neat handwriting. 

Aha! So this was the real secret. 

Having absolutely no qualms about prying into his wife’s private thoughts, the president of the M Group leafed through the diary with glee. 

His eyes grew darker with each page, 

29 April, Wednesday. 

Sunny.

“A couple of seniors invited us to dinner. But I think they were trying to hit on Giana and I was the tag- along. Whatevs. Free meal. Another 15 bucks saved. Yay!” 

1 May, Friday. 

Cloudy.

‘Dragon lady’s class again. I yawned all morning. Didn’t catch a single z cos the bastard tortured me all night. Almost nodded off. Had to pinch myself to stay awake. Can’t risk getting caught by cranky Mrs Robinson. Rumour says she’s going through menopause. But I was 

so tired… Aargh! That bastard Austyn!‘

Austyn set down the diary and took a deep breath, trying to suppress the anger that was bubbling closer to the surface,

He seemed to be doing a exercises when Kira was around. 

When he felt calm enough, he picked up the diary again. 

28 May, Saturday. 

Sunny. 

“Bastard! Jerk! You’re dating Kayleigh while sleeping with me. Two–timer! Fornicator! Sex maniac! You must be so hopped up on Viagra that sex is all you can think about! To hell with you and your little blue pills! 

Austyn, red in the face, slammed down the diary. 

The vein in his forehead would’ve popped out if he kept reading. 

Austyn shoved the diary into the box and kicked the box back to its hidey–hole under the bed. 

He yanked off his tie. 

That woman needed more than just one lesson. 

When he turned around to face the bed, he sucked in a deep breath. 

During her blackout, Kira had somehow woken up long enough to take off all her clothes. 

She was now lying on the bed spread–eagle, wearing nothing but her underwear. 

Her skin was fairer than the Egyptian cotton sheets underneath her. 

The front clasp on her bra beckoned. 

Austyn’s pants were suddenly too tight. 

He climbed into bed and straddled her legs. 

“I’m hopped up on Viagra, hmm?” 

He pinched her petite nose and watched with satisfaction as she was forced to open her mouth for more
