Liam tilted his head towards the private room. “How about lunch?”.

After Liam was driven out of Stamford by Austyn, he had used any and all means necessary to survive and then to claw his way to the 

top. 

In the process, he’d made his fair share of enemies. 

Chief among them were members of the Garner family. 

After Gideon took over control of the family, he looked for Liam, but the man managed to give him the slip every time. 

Meeting at the restaurant was a bolt out of the blue for both of them. 

Liam, playing host, ordered food. 

Then he asked, ‘Are you here for a short visit or a long stay?” 

‘Are you worried that I’ll be a threat to you?” Gideon leaned back in his chair, tapping a finger on the tablecloth. 

Charles stood behind Liam, unobtrusive but attentive.

“Not really.” Liam flashed a smile at his guest, unconcerned. “This is Stamford, not Curlana. Before you make a move on n should think about the consequences.” 

Gideon curled his lip. “You speak as if you own Stamford City.” 

“I don’t, but the man who does happens to share DNA with me. Liam smirked. ‘Besides, I grew up here and am familiar with the local terrain. If there’s anything you need, I’m more than happy to offer my services.” 

Liam paused when the waiter came in with their order. Think about it.‘ 

Gideon would not come to Stamford for no rea

There must be something he wanted. 

Liam was curious to find out what it was. 

Besides, if Gideon took him up on the offer, he’d have to forget about settling old scores and leave him alone, at least for the time being. 

Gideon narrowed his eyes. 

He knew what the man was planning, but he had to agree that Liam had a point. 

Stamford was not his city, he might need help. 

But he didn’t have to work with Liam 

Austyn still owed him a favour. 

A quiet knock came on the door before it was pushed open. 

Martin entered. 

He gave a curt nod to Liam before bending down next to Gideon, whispering in his car. “Young Master, I have reached out to Miss Hewitt’s friend! 

‘Did you stick to the script?” 

‘Yes, I told Miss Mills that I’m Miss Hewitt’s old acquaintance from Milton. I wanted to track down Miss Hewitt but couldn’t find her in Stamford. So I asked Miss Mills to arrange a meeting for us.‘

His smile broadened into a grin.

“This Miss Hewitt wouldn’t happen to be studying at Stamford University, would she?‘ Liam said. ‘And she comes from a small town in the southwest. Am I right?! 

Both Gideon and Martin were staring at him. 

‘How do you know all this?” 

‘Oh, I know more than just her school and her hometown Liam smirked. “I know her full name is Kira Hewitt, for example.” 

Gideon shot out of his chair. ‘You know her?‘

Liam pointed to Gideon’s chair. ‘Relax. Take a seat.” 

Gideon knew the man was just playing games, but Liam had the upper hand now, so Gideon sat down 

“There is some bad blood between me and the Garner family,‘ Liam said. ‘But you and I have no beef. I will tell you what you want to know, but I’ll need something from you in retum.‘ 

Gideon, expecting this, said simply, ‘Go on.” 

“In exchange for Kira’s information, you’ll forget about everything that happened between me and your family. Let bygones be bygones. What do you say?! 

“That depends on what information you have to offer.” 

‘I can assure you it’s absolutely worth it.‘ 

Liam sensed Gideon was on the verge of saying yes, so he moved in for the kill. 

‘The intel I give you will lead you straight to her. You can see her in under an hour if you drive fast enough. And you don’t have to go through her friend, who may or may not agree to meet you.”
