She Wants Kira Dead
Sean pulled Kayleigh into his private room and kicked the door shut.
“Take a seat, Miss Woods.‘
Kayleigh sat on the edge of the sofa closest to the door.
Sean noticed her shaking hands.
‘Miss Woods, relax. I just want to talk to you. He smirked. ‘What a lucky coincidence to run into you here.‘
Kayleigh forced herself to calm down and ignore the ammonia–like odour in the air.
She wasn’t a virgin; she knew what that smell represented.
“Mr Santoro, am I right? Her voice quivered. ‘What can I do for you? If there’s something you’d like to say, please go ahead.”
Sean tossed back a shot of whisky and smacked his lips. “I like a woman who gets straight to the point.”
He refilled the glass and twirled it in his hand. “I ran into another lovely lady at Liam’s house just a couple of hours ago. Care to venture a guess?!
Kayleigh lowered her eyes. ‘I don’t understand.”
‘Oh come on, Miss Woods. I know you and Liam are doing the nasty. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out.”
‘I don’t know what you are talking about.‘ Kayleigh looked away.
‘Don’t get me wrong, I’m not judging. You’re a beautiful woman. It takes skills to play the field, especially when one of them is Austyn McCarthy and the other is his brother. I take my hat off to you.”
Sean mimed a hat tip.
Kayleigh gripped the edge of her seat, rattled by the man’s words.
‘Could you get to the point, please?!
‘Okay. The point is, I saw Kira Hewitt at Liam’s house. Bad timing on my part. I almost walked in on them knocking boots. Liam was half–naked, you know.”
Sean observed Kayleigh’s reaction and saw, to his satisfaction, a dark look on her face.
He continued, “The Hewitt woman is not as hot as you, and I’m saying that on behalf of all members of the male species. But she’s wily She’s got both McCarthy brothers wrapped around her little finger. I feel sorry for you. I do.”
Kayleigh knew the man was goading her, but she got mad anyway.
She had never hated anyone as much as she hated Kira Hewitt
That fake bitch made herself out to be a wide–eyed ingenue and stole everything from Kayleigh.
First Austyn, then Liam
Liam was Kayleigh’s last hope, her fallback guy.
If Austyn decided to cut ties with her, at least she still had Liam to lean on.
But now Liam was with Kira
A small part of her hoped the Santoro man was lying, but women had a sixth sense when it came to
o matters like this.
She knew Santoro was telling the truth.
-Kayleigh wanted to scream, to throw things.
Most of all, she wanted Kira to be dead.
Sean seemed to read her mind.
‘Miss Woods,‘ he drawled. ‘Don’t you hate it when someone less deserving steals everything that belongs to you? Just imagine, if Kira Hewitt no longer exists, both Austyn and Liam would return to you. Their love, their money, their power Everything will be yours once again.”
‘What are you suggesting? Kayleigh asked, a little too eagerly.
‘I think you know Sean tapped a tinger on the glass.
He knew he had her.
You want me to get rid of Kira Hewitt? Kayleigh had not completely lost her mind. “Why? What do you have against her?”
‘Nothing personally, but she’s the chink in Austyn’s armour. Once I get to her, I get to Austyn.”
Kayleigh crossed her arms. “I love Austyn. Why would I help you hurt him?‘
‘So you’re just going to stand by and watch Hewitt take everything from you? Including Austyn?”
Of course not!
Kayleigh was a woman who loved both obsessively and possessively.
If she couldn’t have Austyn, no one else could be allowed to have him.
Santoro was
s good.
He knew how to exploit her weak spot.
Now that he had her hooked, he started to reel her in. I’m not going to hurt Austyn. Not physically, anyway. Just need to settle an old score.”
“What do you have against him?
Sean Hed through his teeth. ‘My wife died because of him. I’m
See how he likes it when the person he loves is taken away going to kill him. I just want to give him a taste of his own medicine.
from him.”
Kayleigh thought the man sounded genuine. “That’s why you hate Austyn.‘
She was still a little sceptical ‘How do I know you won’t hurt him?‘
‘Of course I won’t, not physically, anyway. I don’t want to end up behind bars. But emotionally, that’s another story. He loves that Hewitt woman, right? Then her death will hit him where it hurts the most. I won’t kill him. I want him to live with this pain for the rest of his life. It’s more satisfying than putting a bullet through his head.‘
Kayleigh was irked by the man’s assessment of Austyn’s feelings
‘How do you know he loves Hewitt? What if he doesn’t?”
Sean hid a smirk
A woman’s jealousy knew no bounds.
“You’ve been with Austyn. I believe you can use your woman’s intuition to see if I’m telling the truth.”
Kayleigh dug her nails into her thigh.
She had not had much chance to observe Austyn with Kira, but she knew he cared a great deal about the Hewitt woman
If it wasn’t love, it was at least affection.
And it was more than what Austyn felt for Kayleigh.
Case in point: he suspended Kayleigh’s career because she’d gotten the Hewitt woman arrested.
Kayleigh suspected Santoro was holding out on her.
She knew he was using her, but she no longer cared.
Austyn could only be hers.
His love, his affection, everything he owned, could only be hers.
She would not be cast aside like an old toothbrushi.
Sean reached out a hand to her. “I want Austyn to sutter. You want Kira to die. We’d make a perfect team, don’t you think?”
