Kira sprinted towards the Hummer like a finalist at the Sumpics. 

She pulled open the rear right door and jumped in, panting hard. 

Her face was flushed. 

“We can go now.” She patted the headrest of Kai’s seat. ‘Hurry!” 

Kai started the car.. 

It crawled forward amidst a throng of pedestrians. 

‘Come on!” Kira slid down on her seat and ducked her head below the window. 

Kai caught this in the rearview mirror. 

“‘Young Madam, what’s wrong?‘ he asked, amused. 

Raising her head by a millimetre, Kira risked a glance out the window. “Phew.”

Then she straightened up in the seat. ‘Nothing. My boss was right on my heels. I didn’t want him to see me getting into this car.” 

Her colleagues already thought she got the job because of cronyism. 

She didn’t want her new boss to get another wrong idea. 

If Paul saw her getting into a car that cost more than most folks‘ houses, he would have questions. 

Fortunately, Kira had longer legs and outran her boss. 

Austyn narrowed his eyes. 

“Why doesn’t she want people to see her getting into this car?‘ he thought. ‘Is she trying to hide herself or me? Why? Am I that unpresentable? 

The M Group’s president got all worked up over his own speculation. 

Kira, seated next to him, hugged herself and rubbed her shoulders. Why is it suddenly so cold… 

‘I’ll turn up the temperature,” said Kai from the driver’s seat. 

The car was moving at snail’s pace. 

He handed over a tissue. ‘Are you sure you feel cold? You’re sweating.”
