More Than Just An Apology Kiss 

‘N–nothing.‘ Kira looked away. 

‘Really?‘ Austyn asked. 

‘Uh–huh.‘ 

“Then you won’t mind me verifying that, will you?‘ 

‘Um…‘ 

‘Hand me my phone.‘ It was lying on a table behind Kira. 

‘Who are you calling?‘ 

‘Damian, of course.‘ 

Kira pushed Austyn’s phone out of sight. ‘Damian’s probably asleep by now. Let’s not disturb him.‘ 

‘We’re good friends. He won’t mind getting disturbed.‘ 

‘Still, it’s not polite to interrupt someone’s sleep.‘ Kira tried to inch away from the bed. 

‘He’s a light sleeper.‘ 

Kira ran out of excuses. 

Then she remembered that sometimes, the best defence is a good offence. 

So she turned the tables on him. ‘Don’t try and change the subject!‘ 

She raised her voice and pointed an accusing finger at Austyn’s chest. ‘If you hadn’t gone on a trip with Deborah, I wouldn’t have been misled by what she said. St was clearly insinuating something happened between you two while you were abroad!‘ 

‘I didn’t go on a trip with her.‘ Austyn corrected Kira. ‘I went to take down Santoro, using her as bait. You make it sound like it was a honeymoon or something.‘ ‘Well, wasn’t it?‘ Kira crossed her arms and huffed. ‘She’s your ex–girlfriend, ex–fiancée and the first woman you ever loved. A triple threat. It’s hard to believe nothing happened between you two.‘ 

‘I don’t think that’s how “triple threat” is supposed to be used.‘ 

‘Don’t lecture me on semantics!‘ Kira stabbed a finger in his direction. ‘You’re changing the subject again! And you still haven’t answered my question!‘ ‘Remind me again, what question was that?‘ 

‘Did something happen between you two in Trinidonia?‘ 

‘What kind of something?‘ 

‘You know what kind I mean!‘
