Austyn narrowed his eyes.
He typed out a quick reply. “When and where.” –
He had planned to see Godeon as well.
It was way past time they had a good talk about Kira.
Gideon sent him the address and time, ‘Bring Kim.”
Austyn put away his phone.
He entered the ward just in time to catch Elsie’s whoop of delight.
Kira was blushing
Charlotte was smiling.
Elsie clapped her hands, overjoyed. Ooh, Linust give Mr Scott a call. I have so many ideas about the wedding menu!”
Austyn leaned against the door jamb and watched the three women chatter on excitedly.
Elsie did most of the talling.
It brought a smile to his lips to see Charlotte so happy.
They were debating centrepieces when the clock’s hour hand pointed to twelve,
Austyn had to remind Elsie about lunch
“Oh, right!‘ she smacked a palm to her head. “I’ll get to it right away!”
The housekeeper lett in a burry
Austyn buttoned up his suit jacket.
‘Are you going somewhere?‘ Kina asked
Austyn patted her head and smiled. ‘Just a little problem to take care of, stay here and keep Mom company, will you? I’ll be back soon.”
“Okay.” Kira thought he was talling about work
She saw him out. ‘Don’t forget to have lunch. You need to eat to keep your energy up.”
“I know.”
He pecked her on the cheek before leaving.
“Where ishe off to Charlotte asked when Kira retumed to the ward,
She had just woken up from a nap.
Back to work, I guess. But don’t worry, you have me here to entertain you.’ Kira smiled.
Charlotte lifted her quilt and tried to sit up in bed.
“Do you need something? I’ll get it for you.” Riza dated forward to help
‘No. There’s someone I want to meet.”
Who?
Kira thought maybe Charlotte wanted to see an old friend
‘Your father.”
Charlotte looked up at her. ‘You are my daughter–in–law, which means Mr Hewitt and are family. Yet I’ve never had the chance to meet him.”
