Lock Them Up
“Stop that!‘ A figure dashed out of nowhere and stood in front of Kira.
Giana panted.
The taxi driver refused to go further when the Rolls–Royce turned onto the patch of no man’s land.
“That’s the rough area in town.‘ He shook his head, ‘I’m not going in there. I advise you not to go, either.”
‘I have to go. My friend’s in trouble.”
Giana paid him a in hurry, jumped out of the car and started sprinting.
She didn’t know who else was in the Rolls–Royce, but it sure as hell was not Kira’s manager.
Her heart almost stopped when she spotted a figure about to kick Kira’s face.
Before she could get a good look at the woman’s face, Giana delivered a palm heel strike and knocked the woman to the ground.
Frank sprang to his feet.
He aimed a straight punch at the intruder’s face.
Giana held an eight–degree black belt in taekwondo.
Amateurs wouldn’t survive thirty seconds in a sparring contest with her.
But she trained in the safe environment of a dojang, whereas Frank honed his combat skills in no–holds- barred, bare–knuckle street brawls.
The sky was now completely dark.
Giana ducked the first blow, but was thrown off balance.
She stumbled in the darkness as the bodyguard threw one punch after another.
Elbow strike, a left hook, a straight jab, an overhand punch.
Giana was hit multiple times.
A fist slammed hard into her stomach.
Giana groaned, doubling over in pain.
Before she could react, Frank sent her sprawling in the dirt with a vicious round kick.
She lay on her back, out of action.
Kayleigh had picked herself up from the ground.
She came over when Frank had things under control, then she lifted one foot and stepped on Giana’s abdomen.
Her four–inch heel delivered another stabbing pain to Gana’s stomach..
Giana screamed.
‘Gianal
Kira, half–blinded with tears, clambered up from the ground.
Fury made her forget all about her pain.
Luck Hum Up
She groped around on the floor, her hand touching something hard.
Without thinking, she picked it up and hurled it at Kayleigh.
The brick smacked Kayleigh right on the back of her head.
The actress dropped like a tree before she could utter sound.
Frank stopped dead.
Her employer lay on the floor, unconscious.
A small pool of blood was soon spreading beneath her.
The scene was plunged into total chaos.
Kai stole a glance at his boss.
They were both seated in the backseat, which made it easy for him to observe Austyn’s face.
Though it remained as impassive as ever, Austyn’s eyes instantly flicked to his phone whenever it rang o buzzed.
It had been going on for the past two days.
The president never let his phone out of sight and checked it almost every minute.
Right now, for example, he picked it up again.
When he saw there were no missed calls or new text messages, he flung it onto the seat, irritated.
Kai cleared his throat and ventured a question. ‘Boss, are you waiting for a call from Young Madam?”
‘That’s none of your business,‘ Austyn snapped at his assistant.
Kai offered an apologetic shrug.
‘He’s getting grumpier now,” Kai thought.
When the phone rang, Austyn snatched it up before Kai could react.
‘Hello.”
‘Young Master, it’s me.”
Austyn’s shoulders drooped. ‘Oh, it’s you.”
Elsie looked at the phone in her hand.
Why did Young Master sound displeased when he heard her voice?
‘Sorry, am I interrupting?”
Austyn pursed his lips.
He thought it was Kira….
‘No. Why are you calling?
‘I just want to tell you that I’ll be back in two days. I’m sorry for all the trouble I’ve caused by leaving so suddenly.
“You’re on leave?”
‘Um, yeah. I’m staying at a hospital to take care of my nephew. I called you three days ago, but you didn’t

answer. So I called Young Madam and asked her to pass along the message. She didn’t tell you?”
Of course not!
Austyn had gotten neither a call nor a text from that woman, for three whole days!
On the radio, the smooth jazz of ‘Last Train To Clarksville‘ was interrupted by the radio presenter’s
baritone voice.
‘Folks, we have breaking news. This just in: Kayleigh Woods, the beloved female lead of the TV series ” Dynasties,” has just been taken to the hospital on a stretcher. Witnesses on–site claim she’s covered in blood. We reached out to Kayleigh’s agent, who confirms that the actress has been attacked. The attacker’s motive is as yet undetermined, but the agent swears the culprit will not get away with this. Kayleigh’s company and agent are throwing their full weight behind the actress. They vow to prosecute the attacker to the fullest extent of the law…”
Kai listened to the announcement with his mouth agape. ‘Boss, it’s Miss Woods!”
The Range Rover had just entered a tunnel.
