Anya’s POV:
He didn’t take the business card and said sourly, “No thanks I will ask my assistant to inform you if there is something important.”
I frowned and asked in a cold tone, “What is it you want to see me about?”
Evan cleared his, throat seemingly embarrassed, and said, “Well, my grandma wants to see the two kids. So…”
However, before he could finish his words, I interrupted him angrily.
“Sorry, Mr. Carter! We can talk in the company if you want to discuss anything about work. I don’t think we need to meet in private. Besides, my kids are not obliged to meet strangers. Sorry, they can’t go see her.”
I refused firmly.
Grace is a shrewd woman.
She must want to see the kids because she was already wondering if they were Evan’s kids. If she saw them, she would surely let Evan take them to do the paternity test.
By then, it wouldn’t be easy to get the kids back.
In anger, Evan hit the elevator wall and said, “Anya, don’t overdo it…”
“Evan that’s what I want to say to you! We made a deal when we get divorced. We have nothing to do with each other from then on. What are you doing now?”
“Whose kids, are they?”
“It’s none of your business. They’re not yours anyway!”
Evan trapped me between his arms and sneered, “Really? If I know they are my kids, I’ll give you a hard time.”
“You are just insane.”
Seeing us quarreling, Rose’s face paled with fear, and she looked as if she wanted to be invisible.
Just then, the elevator reaches the conference room.
“You go out first.” Evan said to Rose.
“Okay!”
Rose lowered her head and hurried out of the elevator.
I was still trapped between Evan’s arms in the elevator.
Suddenly, he softened his voice and said “Grandam wants to see them. It won’t take long. I can do whatever you say, as long as you agree to take the kids to see her.”
“Evan, my kids have nothing to do with your family, and they don’t need to see anyone. Let go of me!”
I pushed Evan several times in anger. But he was tall and strong since he worked out a lot. Although I tried my best to push him, it was useless.
“Bang!”
Evan stepped forward and pushed me against the wall. “If you continue to be like this, I won’t be so polite.”
I tried to find an electric shock rod in my pocket. However, it seemed he guessed what I wanted to do as he caught my hands and trapped them on the elevator wall.
“We can do it the easy way or the hard way. Its your choice. You know it. If I want to do something, I will do it anyway.”
“Let go of me. Evan, don’t be rude!”
“Ding!”
At that moment, the elevator door opened again.
“Oh, Mr. Carter and Miss Walter! What are you doing?”
