He Made His Choice
Kelly’s POV
I don’t intend to hurt him but I need to shove the truth in his face so he’d
realize what’s the problem. So he’d know what went wrong.
“Are you okay, Miss?”
I languidly turned to Luke driving beside me. “Do you think I can forget him?”
“You will if you want, Miss,” he answered without taking his eyes off of the road.
I smiled. He’s always by my side and I’m worried he won’t be able to find a woman to love because I will need him while running away from Pierce. Luke is handsome and very gentlemanly. He respects women and I never see him look down at anyone.
“Your stalker is still on the loose, miss,” he spoke again after a series of
silence.
“I’m suspecting someone, Luke.”
He glanced at me. “Tell me who it is, Miss. I will keep my eyes on him.”
“The new cleaner. I don’t know him.”
“What made you suspect him?”
I swallowed hard as I remembered the incident in the comfort room. “He creepily entered the comfort room while I’m inside.”
Luke’s forehead creased as he glanced at me. “I must know his name, Miss.”
I
“And my lipstick is missing. I clearly remember leaving it in my office.”
“That’s very alarming, Miss. Please think deeply if you’re missing any other
things. I already reported this to the police.”
“Thank you, Luke.”
When we reached the condo unit, he opened the door for me. I went straight to the kitchen to drink water and when I was about to go to my room, I saw Luke talking to someone behind the half closed door.
“I will keep her safe, Sir,” Luke sald and slightly bowed his head.
The person outside tapped Luke’s shoulder and my heart skipped a beat after seeing a familiar hand with two rings on the ring finger. It was a wedding ring. His and mine’s wedding ring. W–Why is he still wearing that? I didn’t notice it until now.
I turned my back when Luke closed the door. I was about to go to my room when he spoke… “Mr. Anderson brought food, Miss.”
“Later,” I answered shortly and went to my room. I locked the door and sat on the bed. I palmed my face and shook my head.
I know Pierce won’t stop. I asked him to give me a year, I was doing that for him and for my baby. I want him to disappear in my life for a year so I could focus on my baby and hide it from him. I’m actually planning to resign. I’m just looking for the perfect timing to do that. I need to find a reason to get away -from Pierce and his family. I need space and time for myself and my baby.
I went to the bedside table and opened the cabinet. The papers about the assets I got from divorce are here. Even my passport is here. Once I get the chance, I will leave the country.
I pulled myself up and took my dress off. I let it fall on the floor as I stared at my own reflection in the mirror in front of me. I was about to take my underwear off when I heard something bumped into the glass door. I jumped in shock and I screamed when I saw something floating in the air.
“MISS!” Luke’s voice echoed as he slammed the door. He broke the lock and
saw me hugging myself on the floor. He immediately grabbed the comforter and covered my naked body before he ran to the glass door and opened it.
“Let’s go somewhere safe, miss.”
“I would rather you be angry with me, Miss, than let you sleep in a place you’ll feel unsafe.”
“Drink first. Allow me to touch your things. I’ll get you clothes.”
