The Accidental Kiss

Kelly’s POV

“What is this?” asked coldy after Luke handed me a magazine. I was sitting on the couch while eating an apple when he came, car, ig a magazine.

I glanced at the magazine before looking at him coldly again. “You want me to reminisce about my life where I’m free and not locked in a huge mansion with a barbaric bodyguard and bunch of armed mer”

He stared at me, completely unfazed. “just thought you wanna know about what’s going on with the company where you used to work.”

My forehead creased. I angrily snatched the magazine and opened it. My lips parted and my heart skipped a beat after I saw a photo of Pierce. He looked so fierce and handsome in the picture but the content broke my heart. He stepped down as the President of the company. His father is now the one handling the

company.

I looked at Luke, swallowing my pride. “Do you know why he stepped down?“”

He shook his head. “It wasn’t disclosed to the public.”

“I need to go back to him…”

“He doesn’t know you’re alive, Miss.”

“That’s because you replaced me with a different woman who looks exactly like me!” I growled at him.

“It’s for your own good. Your death will make your enemies lie low.”

I shook my head. “Your sick plan left collateral damages. I will never forgive you.”

“I know, Miss…

I balled my fists when he turned his back and started walking away. I bit my bottom lip as I started at the magazine again. Pierce’s handsome face is making my heart race. His eyes were fierce and dark and as if looking through my soul. I feel like I’m staring at the live version of him and not the photo.

“I miss you, Pierce. I’m sorry that you have to get through this because of me. I

love you, love. So much…”

I don’t have plans on staying in the same house with my own father but I don’t have a choice. Even if I deny it a million times, Luke was right. Whoever my enemies are, they want me gone and they won’t stop until they see me dead. Now, they believe I’m dead, so they would leave Prce alone. Pierce almost died with me and our baby. God! Our family almost died together and that’s all because of my mysterious enemy.

I have to stay hidden, but I don’t wanna stay here. I will find a way to hide

somewhere far from my father.

“Where are you going?” I was caught by Luke one day when I attempted to sneak out again.

I clenched my jaws and faced him. There’s no point in denying. I tilted my head. “Do I have to explain to you how I plotted to escape?”

The whole subdivision is guarded by your father’s men.”

“That’s why I made a plan,” I answered and grabbed his arm. I pressed the blade of the knife I’m holding on his throat.

“You might get hurt, Miss-”

“Shut up or I’ll slit your throat!” I growled at him. “Walk.”

He didn’t budge and it made me even more irritated.

“I said walk!”

He started walking slowly while I’m beside him, keeping the knife on his throat. The guard on the front door looked at us in shock when they saw us

approaching.

“Let me through or I’ll kill this man in front of you.”

One of the guards looked me in the eyes and answered without blinking… “The order to us was clearly to keep you safe here, Miss. Even if you kill him, wel don’t give a damn.”

My forehead creased. I was so shocked with what he said. “What? You’ll let him get killed?”

I immediately faced him as I swallowed hard. “How is he?”
