Chapter 126
SAGE
I had no idea the alpha was so smitten with you,” came a familiar voice from behind me, smooth and laced with
amusement,
I whipped around, my pulse quickening. Standing there, leaning casually against the doorframe, was Kieran. His ever- present smug grin stretched across his face, eyes glinting with mischief.
I raised an eyebrow, annoyed by his sudden intrusion. “What are you even talking about?” I snapped, crossing my arms defensively.
“Oh, don’t play coy,” he drawled, pushing himself off the frame and taking a lazy step toward me. “Do you really think I’ve made it this far in life without knowing how to read people? It’s you he’s protecting, isn’t it? Alpha Titus just refused an alliance with one of the strongest packs–one he desperately needs–because of you. Admit it, little lady. You’ve got him wrapped around your tiny little finger.”
I scowled, my irritation bubbling into anger. “Stop saying things you have no idea about,” I shot back, my voice sharper than I intended.
Kieran’s smirk only widened. “Oh, come on. I’ve been watching people for years–studying them. It’s what makes me a good hunter. And let me tell you, it doesn’t take a genius to see what’s going on here. Titus threw away a golden opportunity because of his… feelings for you.” He paused, his smirk morphing into a full–blown grin. “It’s fascinating, really. I didn’t peg him for the sentimental type.”
I clenched my fists, stepping forward, my temper flaring. “First of all, don’t you dare disrespect him in my presence,” I hissed, my voice low and threatening. “He’s an alpha, and you will show him the respect he deserves, or so help me, Kieran…”
Kieran raised his hands in mock surrender, his grin unfaltering. “Easy there, little lady. No need to get feisty.”
Ignoring his taunt, I pressed on. “Second, you are in no position to question his decisions. He knows what he’s doing, and your opinion? It’s not only unwelcome–it’s irrelevant.”
Kieran chuckled, clearly entertained by my outburst. “Oh, is that so?”
“Yes, it is,” I snapped. “And third-“I stepped closer, glaring up at him, my voice steady and firm, “I am not his lover. And I’m certainly not the reason he didn’t accept Alpha Marcus’s offer. That was Anna.” I jabbed a finger in his direction for emphasis. “So, sorry to burst your bubble, Kieran, but you’re not the brilliant observer you think you are.”
His eyebrows shot up in mock surprise, but the grin on his face told me he wasn’t taking me seriously. “Well, aren’t you full of fire today?”
I glared at him, refusing to let him get under my skin any further. “If you’re done, Kieran, I have better things to do than entertain your nonsense.”
“Oh, I’m done,” he said, still smirking as he stepped back. “But I will stand my ground about my take that it was you he was referring to, and not Anna.”
With a mocking bow, before he approached Titus and Scott, who were in the middle of the main hall.
My chest heaved with frustration as I watched him walk towards the others. Kieran might have been insufferable, but he had a way of getting under my skin like no one else.
As his words lingered in my mind, though, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of uncertainty. Was he wrong about Titus’s decision? Or was he more perceptive than I cared to admit?

Chapter 126.
Shaking my head, I pushed the thought away, Kieran didn’t know what he was talking about. And even if he did, it didn’t change anything.
As the crowd cleared out, their voices fading into silence, the he grew still until only our group remained. The air felt heavier, weighted by everything that had just transpired.
Anna broke the silence first, throwing her arms around Titus. “I’m so glad you made the right decision, Titus!” she exclaimed, her excitement radiating.”
Titus didn’t respond. He stood stiff and distant, his face unreadable. There was something unsettling in his silence, a tension that made my chest tighten.
Then, his eyes met mine. My breath caught as a jolt of something sharp and unspoken passed between us. His rawness, a conflict, that made my throat go dry.

Kieran’s earlier words echoed in my mind. Could it be true? Could Titus’s choice have been influenced by… me? The thought unsettled me further.
Anna, oblivious to the tension, clung to Titus’s arm. “I can’t wait to be your Luna!” she gushed, her voice breaking through the quiet.
Her enthusiasm felt misplaced in the room’s heavy mood. Everyone else seemed lost in thought, processing the weight of the decision.
And then Kieran laughed–a loud, abrupt burst that caught us all off guard.
Anna whipped around, glaring. “What’s so funny?” she snapped, irritation etched across her face.
Kieran smirked, raising his hands in mock surrender. “Oh, nothing. Forget I said anything,” he replied, though his grin lingered.
Anna huffed, her grip on Titus tightening as she muttered, “You’re insufferable.”
Kieran only chuckled, clearly unbothered, before he threw a meaningful glance towards me.
But the brief levity didn’t last. The tension returned, thick and suffocating; until Scott broke the silence with a calm yet heavy voice. “Alpha, please reconsider your decision.”
The room stilled. All eyes turned to Scott, his expression steady and serious. His words hung in the air like a challenge. Titus locked eyes with Scott, his jaw tightening ever so slightly. The tension between them was undeniable, and I held my breath, waiting for Titus’s response.
Anna, however, wasn’t so patient. “Reconsider?” she echoed sharply, spinning toward Scott. “What is there to reconsider? Titus made his decision. It’s final.”
Scott didn’t flinch, his gaze never leaving Titus. “With all due respect, Alpha, this isn’t just about you. This decision affects the entire pack. We owe it to everyone to think it through carefully.”
The room fell silent again, Scott’s words pressing on all of us. My pulse quickened, and an unshakable feeling settled in my chest,
Titus’s gaze never wavered from Scott, the silence stretching between them like a taut wire. The air in the room seemed to grow thicker, heavier, as we all waited for the Alpha’s response.
Finally, Titus spoke, his voice low but resolute, slicing through the tension like a blade. “I’ve made my decision, Scott. And it’s final.”
The weight of his words echoed in the room, leaving no room for doubt or argument. Scott’s lips tightened, and for a

moment, I thought he might press further. But the steel in Titus eyes left no space for defiance, even from someone as loyal as his beta.
“With all due respect, Alpha,” Scott said softly, though the subtle frustration in his voice was impossible to miss, “I still believe that aligning with Alpha Marcus is the wisest course of action. We need every ally we can secure, and there’s no place for personal feelings in this decision.”
Titus’s crimson eyes darkened, his towering presence seeming even more imposing as he turned his full attention to Scott. His voice, deep and commanding, echoed through the hall, leaving no room for doubt. “Are you questioning my decision, Beta?”
The weight of his words seemed to press down on everyone in the room. Anna flinched slightly, her fingers tightening their hold on Titus’s arm as though she could anchor him, but he didn’t even glance her way. His focus was entirely on Scott.
Scott straightened his stance, his loyalty unwavering despite the storm brewing before him. “Honestly, I am, Alpha,” he admitted, his tone steady and firm, though there was an edge of desperation in his eyes. “Because I truly believe that you’re not considering the best option here.”
The air in the room grew taut with tension, each word hanging heavily between them. It was a rare thing for a Beta to openly challenge their Alpha, and the weight of Scott’s words left a ripple of unease among the few remaining in the hall.
Titus’s jaw tightened, the muscle ticking as he regarded Scott with a gaze as sharp as a blade. “Careful, Beta,” he warned, his voice low but laced with authority. “You tread a fine line.”
But Scott didn’t back down. “I understand the risk I take by speaking out,” he replied, his voice resolute. “But my duty as your Beta is to guide you, to ensure that the choices we make serve the pack’s future. Sacrificing an alliance with Alpha Marcus–a resource we can’t afford to lose–for personal reasons doesn’t serve that purpose.”
His words landed like a blow, and I found myself holding my breath, unsure of how Titus would react.
gaze bore into Titus took a deliberate step forward, the room seeming to shrink under the sheer force of his presence. His Scott, unflinching and intense. “You think this is about personal reasons?” he asked, his voice quieter now but no less powerful. “Do you believe me so reckless, so shortsighted, that I would jeopardize everything we’ve fought for on a whim?”

The readers' comments on the novel: Betrayed by an Alpha claimed by a Lycan King (Sage and Titus)
Is it finished?...
...i mean...you had the perfect ending...why keep going?? ugh...i feel like author is going to continue with twists and turns [-_-]...
Don't mean to be rude but half the chapters are missing. As in your only publishing Half the chapter. Not all of it...
Would love more chapters...
ok just as a recap because i'm getting confused with this plot: sage (the daughter of the ex-alpha who was killed for betraying his pack) is contracted to marry the lycan king bc the present alpha doesn't want to give his own daughter to the king. sage sleeps with someone before the wedding (turns out to be the king). there's a caper at the palace where the king doesn't let her look at him bc he wants to keep her guessing for some reason but eventually she finds out that man she slept with is her husband now. there are other concubines and a queen but for some reason titus still doesn't have an heir despite being like thousands of years old. there is a prophecy that a red wolf will destroy the evil inside the king and when it comes to pass titus looks like he dies. sage runs away (she is the red wolf) bc shes scared of being called a killer. when she comes back titus has been manipulated to believe her "sister" is his mate. there's an intermission where sage runs away with her handmaiden to new york and they start a life for themselves. until titus buys out the company bc he's filthy rich and drags her back. the sister gets punished and jailed to be killed, but sage's intervention (due to her previous feelings for the brother) prevents her death. there's a point when the royal elders storm the castle and titus is jailed and almost at the point of death. taking the beta and her handmaiden they rescue titus and restore him to health. while sage was in new york, titus had somehow found his dead wife again (anna?) and she's very childlike and annoying. all the times sage saves titus doesn't matter because he's been deposed as king and brainwashed by his dead wife to believe she's everything to him. titus dissolves the bond between he and sage (bc of pressure from previous wife) but still has feelings for her and still sleeps with her while trying to reclaim his throne by making alliances with other werewolf packs. a bounty hunter offers his help but demands sage as the price. titus says no, but sage goes behind his back anyway and makes the deal. thinking titus is blinded by sage's presence that prevents him from forming alliance with a pack and having that alpha's daughter as his queen, she runs way with the bounty hunter and he puts her up for sale (she's an idiot for doing this). finding out she's pregnant with an accelerated pregnancy (due to blood moon sex?) she runs away from the auction house and is rescued by a couple who never had kids miles away from where she ran away. 3 years or so pass and she is happy with her chosen family until the bounty hunter finds her again and she goes with him to keep him away from her kids only to be rescued by titus at the auction house. he also finds her kids (bc they obvy would run away to find her) but she for some reason convinces them to lie and say they're not her kids. reunited again, they come across rogue wolves who hurt titus, but they somehow all fit into the helicopter that comes at the right time to save them all. titus while being gravely ill still saves sage from being sentenced to death, but now her kids are in danger....
ok now im reinvested! I hope the kids will be ok! titus now would be a good time to wake up!...
If possible, kindly change the title of the book too because Sage is suppose to be happy with Titus but this back and forth is making the book boring...
Please this has to stop , Titus is suppose to be her savior but she's going through too much...
This book really started good. And for whatever reason, the author keeps on adding boring and nonsensical twist to the story. I'm just skipping through chapters and story still the same.repeating issues and conflict and convo. So tiring. I'm just checking in hoping I can read the ending. Lolz...
We need an end soon. It getting boting and is so boring. Also people is missing. Were is her former maid and scott used to be her friend now he treat her like a stranger...
