Luca’s POV
I didn’t believe her all that much but I nodded my head at her nevertheless, James was going to be leaving here anytime soon, and then I was going to have her all to myself after that, so I guess it can try to wait unt then before going all caveman on her.
“Thank you,” Sofia said to Matilda when she came back into the dining room to clear the table, and leaned down to whisper something into Sofia‘a ear. I watched as a small fond look crossed Sofia’s face just as Matilda was leaving the dining room and closing the door behind her. It wasn’t until two minutes had passed before Sofia was excusing herself and making her way out of the dining room, directly into the kitchen where Matilda had disappeared into.
I turned my attention to James the next moment and the first thing he decided to say made me snort a little.
“You’re so down bad. So, so down bad.” He informed me and I rolled my eyes a little. It wasn’t like I was trying to deny it, I won’t even try a little because it was nothing but the truth. I was really down bad for Sofia.
“Shut the fuck up, James.” I said to him after a few seconds and watched as he breathed out a small chuckle and was leaning into me in the next moment.
“Man, you’re in love.” He stated. He wasn’t asking me, he wasn’t even leaving any room for any sort of argument, he was telling me, and those few words were making their way into my head to sink into the lowest end of it.
I breathed out a smell sigh and ran my fingers through my hair in the next second, and I was making to respond to him.
“Okay.” I said in a slow and loud voice, and telling by the way he instantly blinked at me, he had obviously not been expecting that response from me.
“Okay?” He asked after a few seconds and I nodded my head at him, and I couldn’t help it, a laugh spilled out of me when he blinked at me confusingly once again.
“Why are you looking so surprised? I was agreeing with you.” I steered to say to him after a few moments, watching as he proceeded to lean back into his seat the next second.
“You really are in love, man? That’s it? That’s what you’re saying, right?” He started to ask and huffed out a small laugh as I made to lean forward and place my hands on the table before me.
“I wasn’t saying a thing, I was only agreeing with you, you were the one who did the saying.” I reminded him and watched as he blinked at me once again that at this point, it was starti to look mad funny.
“So you’re not in love?” He asked and rolled my eyes a little before starting to speak.
“You said I was in love, didn’t you?” I deadpanned and watched as he shrugged his shoulders a little.
“Yes, and you agreed with me.” He reminded me with another eye roll.
“Exactly, then why are you all shocked and blinking your eyes like a damn fucking robot?” I asked as I breathed a small laugh and watched as he started to scowl at me, and in the next moment he was kicking at my shin with his foot.
I was about to return his kick with one of mine but all thought of doing exactly that literally dissolved into air as soon as the doors of the dining room got pushed open as Sofia started to make her way into the room, pulling the doors closed behind her. She pulled her chair back a little as she slid into it and I noticed how her race was literally glowing. It was very obvious that there was something that she had just got informed about or something that got shown to her, because she was literally all smiles and really trying to hide how her lips were begging to split into a smile on her face.
James informed me that he’d be leaving really soon and I’ve got to admit that I was glad about that. When I was still single, there were days whereby James would end up sleeping over at my house because we’d talk into the night on some days. But now that there was a woman in my life, I wasn’t sure if that was going to be possible anymore. He was such a third wheel at the moment that I was almost sorry for him.
“I wanna go say thank you and goodbye to Sarah, I’ll be back in a few minutes.” James started to say as he pushed out of his seat and even bowed his head a little for Sofia who did the same head movement to him, as he started to make his way out of the dining room, taking his time to close the doors behind him.
I turned my gaze to Sofia to see her staring intently at her thighs, she knew that we were finally alone, and I was sure she could feel my gaze on her cheeks, but she just wouldn’t glance up at me. I kept on staring at her because I knew that she was going to end up giving up at a point. She didn’t end up lasting more than a minute and some seconds before she was lifting her head up to focus her gaze on mine, and our eyes locked instantly.
