"Yes... yes." Jane's answer was stiff, and her expression was somewhat uncomfortable. Fortunately, the elevator door opened at this time. She smiled at Sarah,"Miss. Crowe, please, I'm going to do my work."
Then she turned, went out of the elevator, returned to her seat, put down the bag, and casually flipped through the documents on the table. Sarah went straight into Jeffery's office. The moment the door was closed, Jane raised her head.
Looking at the door of the office, she had mixed feelings. Just as she was in a daze, Tina came over and served Jane cups of coffee. She asked casually, "Who is this woman? She said she was the president's girlfriend as soon as she came, but Susie and Mr. Jones didn't say anything. Jane, doesn't Mrs. Jones like you?"
Jane just didn't want to talk. She knew what Tina meant. Those people below were waiting to see her make fun of herself. Apparently, Tina was trying to get something out of her.
"How would I know?" Jane looked down at the file and said casually, "It's his business who the president likes. You can ask Mr. Jones yourself and why ask me."
Tina sneered and walked around her.
The company's atmosphere in the morning made Jane very uncomfortable. Sarah stayed in Jeffery's office for the whole morning. At noon, she came out with Jeffery, holding Jeffery's arm with a sweet smile.
Jeffery passed by Jane without looking at Jane. Instead, Sarah suddenly stopped and smiled at Jane: "Jane, I'm going to have dinner with Jeffery. I haven't thanked you for taking care of him. Why don't you come with us? It's my treat."
Sarah's words were very tolerant in the eyes of outsiders, and she was making others feeling that she was a really nice person . Jeffery did not speak from beginning to end.
Jane was in a dilemma in public and didn't know what to do. She subconsciously looked at Jeffery. In the past, he would stand on her side and protect her, but now he didn't respond at all.
"Mr. Jones, I want to take a half-day leave in the afternoon. I have something personal to deal with." Jane stood up and politely reported to Jeffery.
Before Jeffery could open his mouth, Sarah beside him asked. "You have something to do in the afternoon. Do you need help? Please take it as thanks to you for taking care of Jeffery."
"No, thanks for Miss Crowe's kindness. I can solve it myself. I just want to ask Mr. Jones for a half-day leave."
"Go early and come back early. Don't delay your work." Jeffery was a little impatient, and his tone was very cold. After that, he glanced at Sarah, who was next to him, "Don't you want to eat? Are you leaving or not?"
"Then let's go." Sarah smiled, waved to Jane and took Jeffery to leave.
Jane didn't speak, and her nose was a little sour. Tina, who was next to her, wore a disdainful smile. She had wanted to flatter Jane before, but now it seemed that she didn't need to.
