Blind date turned proposal (Josie and Dexter) novel Chapter 1133

Justin was halfway through munching on his cucumber when he suddenly saw Josie stride into Dexter's room. The door was promptly shut behind her with a resounding slam.

He quickly tiptoed forward, pressing his ear against the door to listen. Just as he leaned in, Moses grabbed his arm and pulled him away. "Don't be so nosy."

"You!"

Inside the room, Josie had isolated herself from everyone else. She stared at Dexter. "I'll say it again, this is my daughter. No matter what reason you give, I won't agree."

In the dimly lit bedroom, only a few wall lamps were on. Dexter remained calm and composed. "I've never competed with you for anything. Today, she just wanted to sleep with me, why must you object?"

In truth, Josie could understand Grape's request. Seeing Grape cry, her heart was on the verge of breaking too. However, under the current circumstances, she couldn't let Grape feel that Dexter would always support her.

"If I agree to this now, will you also be able to give her the Russell Group and the Russell family assets in the future?"

It's only a hundred days. What will I do if Grace becomes dependent on him and he leaves again? I'm doing this for Grape's own good.

Dexter responded quickly, "She is my daughter. Why wouldn't I give them to her?"

His straightforward reply left Josie speechless. She raised an eyebrow, seemingly taken aback.

Grape couldn't understand the adults' conversation. At that moment, she slid down from Dexter, carefully took Josie's hand, and whispered, "Mommy, don't be angry. I won't sleep with Daddy anymore..."

Yet, the teardrops hanging from her long eyelashes emphasized her pitiful look.

Josie was filled with mixed emotions. She crouched down, intending to explain the situation to Grape but was interrupted by Dexter. "You stay here," he said. "I'll sleep on the couch. Don't make it hard for her."

The words Josie wanted to say were once again stuck in her throat. She exchanged a glance with Dexter, then looked at Grape. In the end, she just furrowed her brow and sighed. "Fine."

Dexter pulled out a blanket from the wardrobe, casually arranging it on the couch. He gently reassured Grape, "I'll be right here. I'm not going anywhere. Once you wake up, you'll be able to see me, okay?"

Grape was finally satisfied. "Okay."
