When Josie found Grape, she was crouching outside the cage, feeding the wolf pup inside.

Beside them stood an elderly lady, holding a dog leash in her hand. Her silhouette seemed familiar. Josie exchanged a glance with Dexter, but didn't recognize her immediately until a big white dog emerged and started barking wildly in Josie's direction.

Josie was taken aback.

The large dog had a weary look in its eyes, suggesting it was of considerable age.

“Pepper!”

Josie was surprised and quickly stepped forward, crouching down to embrace it. “Pepper!”

As though it understood her, Pepper writhing wildly in her arms, barking repeatedly. That frightened Grape into retreating into Dexter's embrace.

“It's me, Pepper. I'm back. Do you remember me?” Josie rubbed its head tenderly.

Pepper continued barking enthusiastically.

Grape whispered, “Daddy, Pepper has become so fierce.”

Maybe it was because of its old age. Peper had been lethargic lately, lacking energy, but now it was behaving differently.

Dexter gently patted Grape's head. “She's happy to see Mommy.”

“Is it Mommy's baby like me?”

“Yes.”

A dog is loyal to its master forever.

Upon seeing Pepper again, Josie was nearly moved to tears. Ever since she returned, she longed to see Pepper again, but due to her hectic schedule, she couldn't find the time. Unexpectedly, she met him at the Russell Mansion.
