Blind date turned proposal (Josie and Dexter) novel Chapter 980

Meanwhile, The Morning Wavery News had arrived at the printing factory. The headline on the front page was prominently about the union of the Russell and Olsen families. After that day passed, Mrs. Russell would take on the title. There would be no more speculation.

The wedding was today, and the majority of the Russell family had arrived, all rushing towards the hotel. As far as Josie was concerned, they clearly favored the eldest daughter of the Olsen family to become the future matriarch of the Russell family.

Mason Garden was unusually quiet. The styling team was not allowed to enter. In the end, Larry had no choice but to call Calvin. When the latter arrived, he found the man sitting on the floor smoking, leaning against the couch. In front of him was a large floor-to-ceiling window, reflecting his lonely and desolate profile.

A slight shock filled his heart. "Dex, today is the wedding."

Dexter remained still, his breath heavy, as he watched the burning cigarette at his fingertips.

Calvin didn't dare to rush him. He could only sit to the side, waiting for his response.

After a while, as the sun began to rise outside, a burst of light fell into Dexter's eyes. He squinted and asked, "How did it feel to have a wedding ceremony with Zendaya?"

Caught off guard by the sudden question, Calvin stuttered a bit, his response somewhat nonchalant. "I'm not quite like her. It was merely a matter of convenience. I didn't feel much."

After saying this, he realized that Dexter and Heather had been in the same situation all along.

"I had promised to give Josie a wedding, but I failed to do so."

Now, however, he was to have a wedding with another woman.

The corners of his eyes, tinged with red, brimmed with endless regret.

Calvin hesitated for a moment, then placed his hand on his shoulder, giving it a pat. The bond between buddies needed no words.

"If Josie knew, she would understand."

However, she had understood him too many times. Even after the divorce, she was still entangled in his life, her fate uncertain. Just the thought of it made Dexter's heart ache.

"What did Mallory say?"

"At first, she was unwilling to speak. It was only after Josie disappeared that she decided to open up." Calvin pulled out a piece of paper. "She simply suggested that we should look for Justin. Perhaps, we could find some clues."

The note had a phone number written on it.
