Bride behind the mask novel (Marguerite) novel Chapter 633

Confusion hung in the air, but Yuna stepped forward, a tempest of resentment swirling around her.

She had overheard everything Penelope said to Marguerite!

She couldn't believe it. Her mother wanted her to dress up like a matching mother-daughter duo with Marguerite and hit the mall? And then convince Hackett to call off her engagement to Freddie?

No way. She was the bona fide heiress with Fitzgerald blood coursing through her veins!

Wasn't Penelope just slapping her own face by doing this?

Where did she place her own daughter in all of this?

The more Yuna thought about it, the angrier she became, and with her heiress status, she no longer held any reservations.

She forcefully split Penelope's and Marguerite's joined hands and stormed at Penelope with a petulant scream:

"Mom! I'm your daughter! I am the rightful heiress of the Fitzgerald family! How could you side with an outsider against me? You're throwing me under the bus, you don't love me at all!"

Marguerite was taken aback.

She never expected Yuna to lose her manners and throw such a tantrum in front of Penelope!

The paternity test from yesterday must have really boosted her confidence. Even in the face of authority, she seemed more emboldened.

Penelope's smile vanished in an instant, her gaze scorching as she raised her voice, towering over Yuna:

"Watch your tone when you're talking to your mother! If I didn't love you, why would I turn a blind eye when you usurped Marguerite's position?"

Yuna was dumbstruck by Penelope's voice, and her fiery arrogance was quelled in a heartbeat.

Yuna bit her lip, defiantly retorting, "That position was mine to begin with."

"Yes, the position I kept for you. But aside from your dramatic love life, how committed were you to your job? You've been onboard for a fortnight, what projects have you engaged in?

You complain about traveling for work, and when asked to meet clients at the office, you went ahead and botched several major deals.

If you despise working so much, why not graciously hand over the position to Marguerite? Do you enjoy stealing everything from her? Both her job and her love?"

Penelope's barrage of questions left Yuna speechless.

It was high time she disciplined her daughter properly!

She couldn't fathom it – Marguerite and Yuna had been sisters for twenty-five years, and yet their characters could not be more different.

"Ah—"

Unable to contain herself, she let out a piercing scream, her emotions ignited, tears streaming down her face as she glared at everyone with bloodshot eyes.

"Do you even remember she's my mom? To me, it looks like you all are the real family! Ganging up against me, but has anyone considered how I feel?

Mom! I'm your daughter! I am, I am! What do you mean by asking me to hand over the position to her?

It was always mine, and even if I spent my days at the company just lounging, it's not Marguerite's place to take over!

I never stole Marguerite's love! I'm the one carrying Freddie's child! Why should I break off the engagement? Why?!"

Yuna's grievances poured out as if everything she accused them of was real!

Perhaps, even she had begun to believe that she was Penelope's daughter, and the one for Freddie, no less.

But Penelope was unmoved by her daughter's lament.

She wasn't sympathetic; she was heartbroken.

"Yuna, let's not talk about anything else. Just this engagement – ask Freddie if he even wants to marry you!"
