Caldwell froze for a moment before asking, "What do you mean? Did something new come up at the scene?"

The female detective nodded, then stepped past him to stand by Marguerite's side, explaining:

Marguerite, ever so gracious, shook her head.

"No worries, go ahead and ask me anything else. When Penelope called me, she was really agitated right from the start. It sounded like she had been trying to reach me several times, but due to poor reception, I never got the calls."

The detective, holding Marguerite's statement, glanced at Caldwell:

"Caldwell, Penelope became anxious not midway through the call but right from the moment she got through to Marguerite. This means her agitation wasn't just because of bad signal. Plus, calling Marguerite over and over? She must have had something important to say, right?"
